Steem Network Hardfork 20: Status and Discussion - 2 days later

in #steem6 years ago

Looking over the landscape today; I really did not want to be one of the first to comment, and yet it seems I must...

Hard-fork 20 was released on the 25th, and we are now about 48 hours into the history of it. You won't see a great deal change on the website, except a red banner that states the system was recently "upgraded".

I saw one Meme that had a burning house picture, and said "HF20 Successful!" and that sort of sums up the humor involved I suppose.

Some consider it a disaster because the network was down for a day or 2, but this will be normal once a year, or when hard-forks happen. Major surgery in this case, but no Hivemind included?

Looks like we now have Resource Credits (RC or bandwidth) and Mana (voting power) and the 2 have been separated, in order to be able to control the network, and stop people from gaming the system.

Meanwhile:

Last I read, I thought Hivemind (Communities) would be part of this release. Now that it's not included, NO WORD of when and if it ever will be included.. so that was the sad part for me.

TODO:
We wait and start testing the system to see what it can do, whales first... and everyone else after a few more days. Wait for your powers to return to almost full before attempting to post or comment would be my advice.

Watch:
www.steemnow.com and steemd.com/@accountname to see your scores return slowly over the next 2 days.

Yes that's the best! You wales first, and then we minnows cos steemit is kinda funny these days

From what I understand, Hivemind 1.5 is still pretty far away, but I guess the developers are going to focus more on that now that HF20 is complete. It was never intended to be released alongside HF20 by the way, so I guess you must have misunderstood that part.

Its actually confirmed for a while that communities are required for smts and they will be released before them, so any day between now and March :^)

Sir, your writing a post many days later. I want to you writing post daily at least one post. I love you boss. So, i waiting for your post

It is more important to put the base for the grow instead of Hivemind for now. Patience is the key for the Steem blockchain.

Sincerely I hope everything gets to normalize, what's more important is that we have a better platform to ensure the progress of the community.

yeah, it would have been so much fun for them to release a new FEATURE here. we need fun. it keeps us happy. but at least we are safe, safe from bad guys gaming the system.... :P

didn't understand what is change in this web site..but thanks to explain it

We are still hoping and anticipating 👍👍😂

Wow very nice to see you after long time! Thanks to good news.

It has been nice to see my power build back up. Things seem to be returning to normal quickly.

Just a great news ..

So good to be back to business

Thanks boss @surfyogi well said hope to see light at the end of the tunnel steem all the way

I hope the benefits that comes with the launching of this phase outweighs the unintended consequences of HF 20

Waiting whats good and future of steemit for now sir. Thanks for info!

This is informative and at the same time alarming. Though I've been time away from steemit due to a commitment but now I have the time now and I will have to read more to know more about this and hopefully sir @surfyogi will be hElpful

The Resource Credits have been recharging very slowly at first, but it got much faster later on. Also, the cost of each interaction (post, comment, ... etc.) was high at first, which made minnows struggle, but now, that the RC cost has gone down, it is much better.

For users like me, the whole HF20 really crippled the zeal and the interest. I just hope everything is back to normal.
