Steemit can be a difficult place to start out on these days I'm told, unless you know someone who has been on the platform for a long time or spend some money on a little Steem Power. Getting a post to pay out at all can be a difficult task. I won't even try to go into details of what is wrong with steemit, I don't think I have a clue anyways, instead I will try and help do something about it. We are going to try this every day for 30 days, giving out 3 or more sponsorships into steembasicincome.
@steembasicincome is a social experiment implementing a voting bot system that you can get sponsored shares into. I love Steemit! I think I may have an addictive personality or something, because since discovering Steemit about a month ago, not a day goes by without my reading, commenting, and often posting on the platform. I can honestly say I've made friends on here already who I expect to have as part of my life for the rest of my life.
I'm so in love with Steemit, and the depth of conversation and connection I've found within a small tribe of spiritual writers on here that I've started working to bring my fellow spiritual writers from other platforms to Steemit. Hence my primary difficulty with this platform, onboarding new people!
It is really hard to get people interested in Steemit who I know will love it once they get past those initial hurdles. Even once you get them accustomed to the idea of being paid in cryptocurrency, it takes so long for them to get an account created. Then they finally get approved, but can't do anything on mobile. And lots of people only have mobile for internet access. And then once they are here on desktop/laptop, if they don't have at least $100 they can invest in STEEM or SBD, they have virtually no upvote power, nor ability to pay bots to help get their posts seen more at a time when they have no followers.
I'm working hard at helping to grow the spiritual community on here despite all these obstacles, but good grief. The platform needs some work to make this something that can grow beyond the true believers. It just needs to be easier to get started and have some modest success in those first few months.
Glad to see a program like this helping with that. I submit myself as an applicant and will also spread the word to those I'm trying to help onto the platform.

I love Steemit but it can be a bit of a dumpster fire. I hope this effort promotes and encourages good content because the low quality content really has the potential to sink the site.

I am very new to steemit (a little over a week) I had no idea how much I would enjoy using the platform and being part of a real unique community.
My sole intention when joining, was to gain a bigger following for the work I do in the space of Personal Development, Spiritual Growth and Entrepreneurship.
The concept around earning money from posts was never my sole intention, but seeing and learning how it works, it's obviously intriguing and adds an extra layer of excitement when creating content.

I joined Steemit around 6 months ago. I have done posts on a lot of topics including photography, travel, contests, and food reviews. Right now I am focusing on gaming content. I am currently focused on DLive. I have streamed on Twitch for a good while, I have around 280 followers, and have done pretty well on their so I figured I could do pretty good DLive. I made the switch because I was already familiar with the Steemit platform, and I think DLive could eventually compete with other large game streaming services. I just recently bought new computer that I will be putting together soon with a friend to hopefully bring high quality streams to the platform. I'm a steemian that's been 5 months in Steemit. I've been trying to learn steemit day and night. Read the post about steemit and write about steemit. I know the upvote in that third-party app is a lot more. But they provide rules that are impossible to do all steemian including me. Therefore my post and other beginners are still 0.04. We have tried to do small fellow steemian vote, but the result is still 0,0x. But we still write in steemit, hoping someday there will be a bigger one. I am a great art appreciator. I adore all forms of art. Notice I said art appreciator not artist. The closest I come to being an artist is being married to an extremely talent artist and art teacher. The only artistic medium I have even attempted is photography and I feel that I have a decent natural eye for shots.

When I got into Steemit there were many times when I was thinkig it’s just not for me, it’s too hard to get enough exposure here or to find some friends. But I was wrong. It is still hard to get enough exposure but I found friends who are always willing to help. Using Steemit is really hard without a friend that has a HIGH SP or I can say a generous friend/bot that can help you to grow.
On my first 2 weeks, it makes me feel so bored because I don't get enough votes per post. It's really hard! You know that feeling "I'm waiting and wishing for a whale to upvote my blog/post?" and sometimes I'm even dreaming it when I'm sleeping. Weird right? haha!
That's how I feel, I often used bots before when my savings comes up with at least 1 SBD and that's the start of my journey.

I came to sttemit in hopes of making a more independent lifestyle. My wife and i got 14 acres in the ozarks we want to tend but after moving here, weve had to get jobs a long way away in order to keep the lights on.

Hi, I really like the concept of basic income and think humanity will require it to live happy when automation reatch a point where there isn't jobs for everyone.

Hi @tmholdings, thank you for your initiative and this is my story :-) I started my Steemit journey last September, unfortunately due to some life events I'm living apart from my wife. We made some choices that lead to this situation, but we opted for honesty: although we have some difficulties now, we can sleep at night and be fine with our conscience and this is what's most important! Life is not easy living alone, but Steemit helped me by letting me express my love for writing and I also found a caring community. My plans are to grow enough to be able to sustain my values through my posts: freedom and equality in the world. I would like Steemit to become also a way to help my family and some organisations I already sustain. I truly hope that this platform may become a place where we can all fight against the inequality and distribute wealth in a better way, that's why I love the @steembasicincome project!

Hey guys , so basically this is my story , I have never wrote it on my introduction or anywhere else because I know my parents wouldn't want me to , my family is in a court case which involves our house , my parents are both sick but has to work for our sakes , and it's just too costly for everything and me and my sister are still studying and it requires money , it's just too hard , and I'm in china where it's not allowed to do work when you are on student visa. So , that's when I found steemit, I have tried my very best to post stuff regularly hoping I make a regular income maybe one day , so that we no longer has to live in fear of will our house go , or will my parents job go??!! I want to be able to help my family somehow. I'm the eldest too , so it is my responsibility!!

Steemit Community is not as easy as you think of. In my first day here in steemit, it made me dismayed coz only few steemians could read my post. I feel like this platform is not for me. But days have passed when one of the known people here in steemit appreciated mine and got resteemed. I got so inspired that I want to post again. I thought that it will be resteemed again. Hi. Ive been on steemit since oct 2016. Ive been working on understanding and investing cryptocurrency since feb 2016. There has been a steep learning curve with the ins and outs of steem and i am rolling with the punches. I could use any help or guidance you can provide. I already have two shares in @steembasicincome. One the I was given early in the program and one because I sponsored someone else. I plan to sponsor more over time. Lately - the pennies are funding my life, so I have not been able to do all I wish to.
The reason it means so much to me to have a steembasicincome vote is not the value of the vote - but the fact that there is a vote at all. Steemit is such a hard place to get any traction. When you post a "good" post and see no votes for it, it is very discouraging. Any votes coming in are encouraging and keep us motivated to do more.
I post into challenges and contests for that reason - to hopefully get interest on my posts. But even then - sometimes I do not see results from that action.
No matter what - I get an sbi vote, and for that - I am very grateful.

Hello to all! I'm very new to Steemit (I got verified just over a week ago after a few attempts over a 5 months period). Glad I didn't give up ;) I'm slowly finding my way around here. Being a newbie has it's advantages - you have no preconceived idea and therefore take whatever comes your way with an open mind. We all have many facets and defining myself with one profession/one interest has never been my thing. I try to keep the lid of the box I live in open :) I found Steemit though my research in cryptocurrencies and even though I'm not very active on social media (which I find makes your personality more concrete and I prefer to think I'm more then my personality) I'm all for trying new things. Social media needs a big change and Steemit is the first project I came across that is working on bringing the change about and giving power back to the content creators. The topics I plan to talk about on my blog are Health (in a wider then "absence of disease" sense), Yoga (more then beautiful people putting their bodies in beautiful poses in beautiful locations), Social Change (the genie is out of the bottle and I can't even imagine how different society will be in upcoming decades!), Connecting, Motivating and Supporting each other (there are too many lonely people staring at their monitors in this world and we all need each other). But so far it seems my posts are on a Philosophical side :) I guess that is what has been building up and I've got to get it out "on paper". Steemit is a way for me to exercise my creative expression and see the creative expressions of my fellow humans. Great day to all! And #steembasicincome for all!

I have been a travel writer for years but never got a lot of traction. When I found Steemit, I thought it would be a great opportunity to get involved with a community and potentially make a little on the side. What I have found is I really like the community. I have met a lot of great people with a lot of stories to tell. That is what has kept me going more than anything. Aside from travel writing, I am an underwater archaeologist, scuba instructor and photographer.

I absolutely love this!! It's very, very cool! I love this platform, and see huge potential in it. But, it is slow! I really want to be a huge part of this platform, and post regularly. However, I'm lucky to get $3 to $4 a post, and most of the time, it's lower than $1.
What I really want to do is to make enough to be able to support a charity that I would like to start. I want to create solar panel farms for low income housing. Imagine if people didn't have to worry about an electric bill? Especially in locations with extreme weather where lives depend on air conditioning or heat.
So, that is how it would help me. :). I've been on steemit for a little over 90 days. I've done well in the sense that I have made lot's of really great friends and connections. It just doesn't translate into post up votes.

First of all I would like to thank everyone in the team putting so hard work & time into this project.
To my point of view the basic income is the only one respond to our actual world (not only the steem basic income but more larger). We'll face technology taking more and more place in our life and replace one by one our jobs, we'll have new generations with a different way of thinking and this world isn't fit for them at the moment. Therefore I'm more than convinced Basic Income is the solution : you can keep studying if needed, you can change your life without risking your familiy earnings, you can spend more time with your kids and help them to be the better humans on earth (ever !)
Therefore when I see a project linked to this idea, it seems sooo logical to be included.
As I have to talk about myself and why I need it, it's simple. I'm putting a lot of time and commitment in our French community on Steemit in order to develop self development matter. As we are a small community, it isn't that simple to help new steemians to come, to stay & to talk about this subject. What I'll do with this revenue is already what I do today but with a better impact : I will promote all the great French posts linked to this thematic : health, sport, nutrition, self development, reading, ...
Because I believe in it and I already saw in the past that this kind of great content help everyone reading it ! Sometimes you just read it, sometimes you rediscover your own life ! And for those times, it totally worth it !
