The best love. Discover it!

Love according to God is not the same as we have.

It is not the love they give us, it is not the love we give.

Love is in the Holy Spirit who dwells in us; We have to learn how to manifest it.

The manifestations of the Spirit are beautiful, we want them, we seek them; but this is temporary, because when we are in the presence of God there will be no need to heal the sick, or cast out demons or speak in tongues, or prophesy.

But the love, the character of Christ will remain in us.

Does this love that we receive from God really give to others?

Let's be honest! This kind of perfect love only comes from God, but through his Holy Spirit we can develop it.

In Greek there are 3 words to define "love" and depending on the type of feelings is defined in these terms:

Eros:

This is defined as being sexual, passionate. When Eros was used as a proper name it referred to the Greek god of love.

Fileo-storge:

This refers to "having a special interest in someone or something", having an affection for liking, considering someone as a friend with a strong liking or a strong friendship; It implies a strong emotional connection or deep friendship. Storge love is that affection that occurs naturally between parents, children, between siblings, between husband and wife in a good marriage.

Agape:

It is not simply an impulse generated by sensations.

It is an exercise of the will, a deliberate decision to do what benefits the other person.

It is related to obedience and commitment and not necessarily to feeling and emotion.

  • To love as Eros is to love with the body (hormones, sensations)

  • Love with love Fileo-storge is love with the soul (emotions, feelings)

To feel love Agape is to love in the dimension of the Spirit.

To feel spiritual love, agape love we must have a living spirit, and this happens when you invite the Holy Spirit to dwell in you.

Agape love is the union of decision and conviction.

What are these types of love oriented towards?

Eros:

It is oriented in the human natural hormonal sensations, in the passions, carnal desires (totally natural).

Fileo-storge:

It is focused on relationships of couple, family in the heat in emotions.

When we talk about love Eros and Storge, in this type of love, what 1 Corinthians 13 says is not fulfilled:

Corinthians 13: 4-8
Reina-Valera 1960 (RVR1960)
4 Love has suffered, is kind; love has no envy, love is not boastful, it is not puffed up;
5 does not do anything wrong, does not seek his own, does not get irritated, does not hold a grudge;
6 he does not enjoy injustice, but he enjoys the truth.
7 Everything that suffers, everything that believes, everything that hopes, everything that it supports.
8 Love never stops being; But the prophecies will end, and the tongues will cease, and the science will end.

When we come to feel this kind of love we begin to forget about ourselves in order to see happy and well the people we love along with the other types of love, (passionate, emotional) we make the decision to sacrifice ourselves in favor of the well-being of the other.

Agape love is a kind of healthy love, beautiful, are decisions based on convictions thinking of the other person.

Naturally we are born with love eros and fileo-storge, and these types of love sometimes hurt us, hurt us, hurt us.

But to reach the level of agape love, we have to have the Holy Spirit of God because from Him comes this love spoken of in 1 Corinthians 13. 4-8.

This happens when we accept Christ, the Holy Spirit enters us and as fruit this kind of love is born in us; a spiritual love.

In this sense we can manifest agape love to our children, husbands or wives, brothers, to our church.

Agape love:

It is to obey God in favor of another person, seeking the blessing and its benefit.

Eros and filial love ends because they are mortal feelings.

But the union in obedience and conviction based on their decisions in the case of marriages will last a lifetime.

God gave his son thinking about us, this is agape love, God made the decision to love us to send Jesus so that we would be saved, this was by grace.

God loves us, we do what is good or even doing what is bad, clarifying that doing evil unleashes consequences, he is there loving us, hoping that we will approach Him, repentant, waiting to forgive us.

God expects us to love him with agape love.

God wants us to love him, to adore him in spirit and in truth.

We made the decision to love God, to be obedient and to put his word to work, trying to please him to renounce our own nature to love him as he wants us to do, not thinking about ourselves but Him.

The way to know that we love agape to God is that we obey his commandments.

John 14: 21-24 Reina-Valera 1960 (RVR1960)
21 He who has my commandments and keeps them is the one who loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to him: Lord, how is it that you will manifest to us, and not to the world?
23 Jesus answered and said to him, "Whoever loves me will keep my word; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our home with him.
24 He who does not love me does not keep my words; and the word that you have heard is not mine, but the Father who sent me.

Example:

When we say No to a temptation for your conviction and for your decision to obey and please God.

When we do something that although we do not like it, we do it because we decided to please Him.

God is happy when we put aside the things we like and for our conviction and decision we do it because he likes it.

Let's look for agape love at this level where we feel free.

Ephesians 3: 17-19 Reina-Valera 1960
17 so that Christ may live by faith in your hearts, so that, rooted and grounded in love,
18 be fully able to understand with all the saints what is the width, the length, the depth and the height,
19 and of knowing the love of Christ, which exceeds all knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Thank you dear brothers, I hope it was a blessing.

God made us in his image and likeness and has placed his love in us I believe that this is the closest resemblance to Him.

Thank you for reading this far!

Blessings!!

Thank you for using our sacred Enilekcays label!

Yes, God pours out his love in our spirit to be able to love the impossible: to people difficult to love humanly. Thus, the commandment to love is not burdensome, because God puts at our disposal the capacity for it.

The ultimate example of agape love is Jesus going to the Cross to die for his enemies (Romans 5: 8).

Agape love is the love that God wants all Christians to have, because if we have it, it will make it easier to fulfill His commandments about LOVE.
