God has given us a command not to steal at exodus 20:15 but most of us have overlooked that commandment. The biblical punishment for stealing is death and all the experience of those who stealed end up in a very bitter way. Let's see some examples for those who stealed that were recorded in the Bible.
Consider for example the four people who stealed in the Bible:
1)Judas is-cariot:We all know that Judas betrayed Jesus but aside from that he kept stealing from the treasury chest of the church he would do so when others where not looking at him and would try to collect more.
Judas end was very disastrous aside from betraying his master he was a theif no wonder he hanged himself. We don't want to end up like Judas who is a very bad example to Christians but his story was recorded for our own good so that we can avoid being like him.
2)ACHAN :Achan was a faithful servant of God but one day he accompanied his city to fight against enemies of God. They won the battle but as he was leaving the city, he saw a fine robe and a golden bar which belongs to the enemies of God(Joshua 6:19).Achan stole these items and hide it in his house telling his family to cover up for him. What was the result?
Isreal faced a terrible defeat on their next battle. Achan had to confess that he was the thief but by then it was too late. Achan and his family were stoned to death. That's another example of a thief recorded in the Bible. Just the action of one man affected the whole city, this stress the extent that God hates stealing. We don't want to end up like Achan and his family. It was out of greed Achan stole, let's avoid the attitude of greediness.

3)David: David was the appointed king of Isreal. One day he strolled round his palace and saw that a woman named Beth-she-ba was bathing. He ordered for her and slept with her and that can be considered stealing because he was not the husband of Beth-she-ba. God was very angry with David for this bad act and he told him that he would face problems until he died not from outsiders but within his own house hold. The lesson we learn from David is that we don't to sleep with another person's marriage mate because God hate adultery and he would surely punish us. (2 Samuel 11:1-27)
We just considered few examples from the Bible who took what was not theirs and they end up in a terrible way. Never become a thief even though others are not seeing you there is one person who is seeing you and that is God. Greed can make a person to steal. Remove the spirit of greediness from your heart.
When you see something which is not yours kindly return it back to the owner and if you do not know the owner you can take what you found to the police station and they will help in returning it back. Remember the Bible says "do onto others what you ought men to do you". We won't like it if someone steals from us and they won't if we steal from them.
If you stop stealing and repent the most high God will forgive you freely and you will become his friend. Isn't that the most greatest privilege ever?
