I have learned from hard experience not to put all my eggs in one Social Media basket
I'm a content creator and I came here for the Alexa ranking and to get my work seen. It's turns out to be that this is not easy.
Steemit has maybe 35K in active members – see the stats given out by @penguinpablo to confirm this.
My other platforms are where the people are. I’ve been building my brand for 7 years now and I have millions of good people I connect with all over the internet. I want to bring them here, but for now they are still there. Some of them will never be able to come here. And some of them could do really well. I can’t get them to steemit by dropping them now.
I have these connections:
FB
-1400 “friends”
-700 groups 11M reach in those groups
-20 pages I run on my various niche topics. I’m about to add another 20 pages because they work with very little effort once they are set up. Remember sheep are on fb and you can herd them with keywords like I do. See @jerrybanfield and how he is killing it on fb for steemit right now.
-50 steemit groups with good people in them who join me, make good content and upvote my posts
Twitter
-5500 real followers – no bots; no crap followers; good retweeters
-20 twitlists of different types of people I can engage with and get contacts
-14 on my steemit twitlist <<< Get on it!
I retweet good steemit posts and get a good response so far.
I coach twitter and y’all need help so hmu!

-11K followers
-400+ boards
-100+ secret boards I use for research
I barely understand Pinterest but I have a lot of connections there and drive traffic. I also use Pinterest for research and would be lost without it. I pin what I can for steemit – not quite on it yet.

Fine Art America Pixels
Behance
-1500 photos in total - most on Behance in projects.
FAA Pixels is where I sell wall art, fashion and home products with my photos on them. Behance is where I tell stories with my photos and drive affiliate sales. I’m very unsuccessful in selling but very successful in engaged views. I have a lot of my story in both places. Not dropping them.
I’m posting my faa art in color challenges and other group tags here at steemit. Here is my most recent.
I’m posting steemit posts to my art blog on FAA. I think I can get other artists over here but it will take time.

You Tube
That's my You Tube channel when I was working it in Spring of 2017. some other stuff got in the way but I still reap benefits from my changes.
I have a big roaring mess of content over at You Tube and it drives traffic. I do not have ads over there but I get good results. I should branch out to other platforms for uploading video but so far You Tube is it.
I coach You Tube and help people a lot who have better videos than me by far. Those people like me and share my work since I share theirs :)
If you have a video on your good steemit post, I will probably go over and watch it and like it and sub you. So get on it and sub me back for goodness sake!!
Simbi
Simbi barter platform gets things done for me. I’ve done 70+ deals in 2017 for all kinds of help given and received for free. I think The Simbians will come here and do well as they find out about it. I have a great presence there and I'm looking forward to tapping it.

Write a long post. Send it to 3 simbi proofreaders and see what I get back.
Formatting
Send the post above to be formated
Graphics creation
Get the art done for 3-5 titles at a time. Provide photos (or background request) and text.
OFFER HELP
Make up 4 small things you can do in 30 minutes or less and offer them a few times a month. My coaching has improved significantly by this action.

LinkedIn
LinkedIn is my longest running and least successful platform. I don't even know what I have over there - maybe 400 connections who rarely speak.
My resume has been on LinkedIn for hundreds of years and will not be moving away unless they close down – also – slideshare and pulse are good places to post and are part of LinkedIn now. SE Asia uses LinkedIn more that the states. I’m stuck there even though I hate the place.

Well - FB is a good place to "keep connected" - with people from elementary school & other internet platforms. It should be there for a while :)
For pictures I've been on 500px for a long time - soon 2mio views - and one sold pic - yeah...
When I have time - youpic.com & gurushots.com
Then some time on Insta (but starts to look too much like FB)
I'm also in linkedIn, but I don't see that as a place for interaction...

In fb - it's my groups that keep me there. People actually talk in them and I get all kinds of tips and tricks on various topics. The art sites are vanity projects for me. I have an account at insta, but I don't think my work fits the platform.
For LinkedIn - I'm using the LinkedIn share feature here at steemit on my posts that make sense to be seen on my LinkedIn profile. I have no idea if that gets me any views or any benefit but it is easy, so I'm doing it :) That place is necessary for me, but I sure don't see much return out of my efforts. I had a guy try for internet sex there a few years ago. That is about the most interesting thing from the decades I've been a Linker lol.

Steemit now, is in a unshaped form i think. Maybe is not rising interest because lot of people search for $$$ value and they don't want to lose time with $1 value. And they got it wrong.
But, lets hope will be more to come for the content.

I too have learned not to focus on one social media site, when Tsu closed down I think many of us were primarily focusing on Tsu, I am glad to find so many friends here.
I dropped tsu a few months before it died, and I sure miss it. The best thing to come out of it were the many great connections on my other platforms. I have a few in most places and those are my RTer's and re-pinners a lot of the time. I need to make a better effort at keeping connected with my tsusers here, but there is so much to do here that I forget! So glad to see you today, Michelle :)

I am in 750+ groups over there that I use daily. Unfortunately I do not see that ending soon - but maybe I can get some of those people to come here :)
G'day. You know, I can somehow understand what you're saying but I prefer to not be too involved in the whole social media thing. Most of it seems to be low level stuff that just dulls my brain right down.
I think Steemit gives you a chance to say it, how it is, without being persecuted for your viewpoint.
At the same time, you can be smashed if you are out of line!

That's true - a lot of my fb groups are for people in chronic pain or with other chronic illnesses. We all fight the battle of trying to find "good" information that is not censored. I have high hopes that this might be a place to get some of the word out. But those people have to come over here in order to grow steemit.

That's very kingly of you - for me - I want to get my 11 million connections from other platforms here and if I drop them now, they will not come.
The 30K active people on steemit do not cut it for my affiliate sales, book sales etc. Especially since half of them only care about crypto topics. I need people trying to get healthy and who want my other coaching. Hoping for the best anyway :)

Yeah definitely. I'm working on a post to teach people how to use canva - maybe more than one post. Steemers definitely need this help but so does everyone else and canva is free and simple to make graphics with.
So I'm back to this post today since it is near to 7 days. My plan is to upvote comments but I blew out my power. I see you get these votes again and I sure wish I knew how. But thank you so much for them.
What do you think of my idea of coming back like this? I upvote the best comments on each post in the morning - maybe 2 of them. I only have about 12 votes a day and now I need to hold off for a couple of days.
