Smoke Network is a collection of platforms for all things marijuana. Where users of weed can share their experiences, thoughts, discussion, reviews or just anything that pertains to ganja.
You can try the beta version of the platform right now and sign up to get the latest update on their development from the main website.
I can honestly say that Smoke Network has the best cryptocurrency-related promotion video. I get goosebumps just by watching it.
If you're on this platform (or have a Steem account), you can use the same account to access their platform. As smoke network is built on the Steem Blockchain as well.
This product is still in it's beta phase, but its one to definitely keep an eye out for, Afterall, "weed" and "cryptocurrency" in the same sentence is really something next level.

And wow so Smoke network eh? I checked their site a few weeks back so nothing about it using steem , but now its steem now? So you CAN use steem account to login? They arent going to try to pull a Vice move and switch from steem to ethereum?

So you just Guessed this? Because its not true man! They use a DIFFERENT blockchain and a front end that looks forked like golos.io ... They arent using steem, they seem to have their own smoke tokens, and they don't seem to be earning much and their reward pool can't ever be as much as the money you can make on #cannabis here :D I will make a front end that just uses #cannabis @marijuana #cannasteem tags and ill just do my Own smoke competitor but I do apreciate the effort ! Just please show me what you actually meant by saying I could use my Steem account to login on the smoke network...

but id like to see why smoke network doesn't have a marketcap on coinmarketcap... I see 7 cents at 13 million coins so aprox 91 million dollars IF we see that 13 million coins actually circulated but I'm assuming they really arent and theres some staked "smoke power" and coinmarketcap must not like that :D
anyway I like how the smoke looks since it looks exactly like steem.. I like steem forks and so I enjoy this I just wish it really did use steem and wasn't just a steem fork.. Shouldn't I have gotten some free smoke tokens if I had Steempower like they did with Golos for steem power holders? I feel like forking steem and giving tokens to SP holder is the only way to really grow our meta ecosystem

I think this project is giving out free smoke coin if I am not mistaken. Overall, this is a great platform to invite weed user into a social media blogging platform, steem.

Ahh what a bummer.... I can understand your decision in doing so. So the same product with different website is something to look out for in the future.
Hope to see how the dev team can solve this but users may also be wise to double/triple check their submissions in the future, perhaps a better search function on Steemhunt?

Personally this feels like a gimmick project and maybe it will have a small subset of the population keeping it afloat but I can’t see this making any real impact in the market
It’s a novel concept that kinda grows old fast and only a select few avid followers will stick it out and gather most of the rewards! I can’t see this coin being worth more than 0.08 cents but then again the crypto market is anyone’s game just look at crypto kitties
I think that this platform is here more to show that we can do great and simple things with blockchain. And that everyone can access it even without IT knowledge. If the platform gets a big amount of users, it’s another platform based on blockchain out there on the web and used!
Soon blockchain will be just one of the other methods we can use internet and data encryption. Everybody says that Facebook is “safe” and you can put your pictures, but at the end, does every users knows where the data will be physically stored and how it will transit until there? And they still call this safe... For most persons, http and https are the only way to know if you are safe or not on the web ... I hope you get my point
Yes I get your point and I’m sure blockchain will be forced into every medium of the internet and become a back bone of many future protocols but I don’t think it solves the problem of data manipulation that is a deep seeded psychological problem we’ve built for ourselves platforms and advertisers aren’t willing to give that data up and consumers aren’t willing to pay when they can g r free alternatives where they’re data is used to feed them personalized content! It’s an symbiotic ecosystem that can only be broken if both parties agree which I don’t see being very likely
Great insight! Yea this is definitely a niche stuff. But with growing legalization of marijuana across the world, even niche communities can do great stuff.
We can't expect smoke network to solve world hunger or what not but it will serve a purpose of a blockchain-based community around the joy of all things dank. And by that the devs have already acheived what they set out to do in their whitepaper.
That's so dope man. I thought the Smoke Network was launched off Bitshares. I'm excited about the possibilities. Actually gonna try it now..

Yea more and more platforms are powered with Steem. I remember i published a post about all the different apps you can use with a single steem account but by now the list is about twice as long at least.
high time for me to get a "part 2" running
