Audit #1 of @steemislandinc Steem Island: Disputed List of Officers and Bean Counting

in #steemislandinc7 years ago (edited)

Well, @riosparada, I am not too impressed with the way you handled the Steem Island Phase 1 funding round. But I am here to help! 👼

To buy a part of steem island all you have to do is transfer the amount of steem you want to contribute to the steemislandinc account (@steemislandinc). All the Steem collected in this account will be held in steem power so that all contributors can keep an eye on it.

(From this source)

This is a friendly audit, mainly to point out the errors in accounting. However, it appears that the rules were not followed. And many discrepancies exist. Your auditor would like to keep an eye on it.

If and when the account becomes overfunded the last people putting in the steem that created the overfunding Will be refunded.

This is still yet to be addressed and there seems to be a lot of overfunding.

The List of Officers as given by @riosparada

So the values given for the putative officers of Steem Island need to be verified and audited. This is my attempt to correct some of your errors and to dispute at least 10 things that have to do with the Officer selection.

I need not repeat the rules that @riosparada laid out to become an Officer of Steem Island. They were clear.

However, the rules were not followed about a dozen times, some of which were the result of errors by @riosparada, some were caused by ordinary Steemians, and some were caused by family members of @riosparada.

Here is the Erroneous Officer list that was posted recently. The numbers are supposed to represent Shares, but they should also correspond to Steem invested. Your auditor found otherwise.

Audit #1 by @uruiamme

After auditing the wallet pages for @beep and @steemislandinc, I also checked the wallet of @steemstock.

Audit in Spreadsheet form (tl;dr)

I am submitting my audit. It has notes, figures, and the amount of disputes for each putative Officer. Here is the Google Sheets page with all of the details about Officers of Steem Island, Inc. There, you will find that I have re-sorted and colorized the cells where problems exist.

You will also see that auditing this took a few hours of jumping around from a number of wallets, tracking down unusual transactions, and making best guesses.

Corrective Action

Those who have a disputed amount, it might be good at this time to invest the amount you lack. This exact amount can be calculated by yourself if you look at the Wallet links above and adding up what you contributed versus what @riosparada said you invested.

This is just a friendly auditor warning. If you do not submit at least 1 Steem as per the Rules, your contribution may be returned and you will not be an officer. Or if you submitted 7.416 Steem, you should be credited with 7 and not 8 Shares, and the 0.416 Steem should be returned.

SBD ERRORS

Anyone contributing in SBD instead of Steem will discover that your investment is disputed. Whenever SBD was invested, it appears that @riosparada transferred this to STEEM. Unfortunately, these transfers were generally on the short side. Your investments are too little, and I would refer to the rules which specify Steem.

Particulars

If you are @riosparada, you will need to explain the large discrepancy in the amount invested. I understand that you have added the value of @steemstock to Steem Island. However, this investment is not visible in any Wallet transaction, and therefore cannot be audited or "seen." You are asked to offer support of the difference between the 34 Steem wallet transfers and the 117 shares claimed. I was unable to figure out the "40" that you claimed, but in any case I combined the 40 with the 77 on my spreadsheet. I only came up with 34. 😕

I am going to ask you what rule is there to permit the inclusion of another account? How did you include @steemstock in your contribution if this contribution is not one of the rules? The rules were supposed to be laid out clearly. If nothing else, a new rule could be written on the spot, and I would be glad to redo the audit. 😄

All of the other accounts with disputed amounts are less than 1 Steem.

If you are @nikant, you will discover that I believe you may have erroneously contributed to @steemstock, and therefore I am confused if this was intended to be invested in Steem Island. If so, there was 8.000 Steem transferred to the wrong place. You may have a claim of an extra 8 Steem, rather than your Dad via @steemstock. Check your wallet for transaction records.

If this audit shows that you did not contribute even 1.000 Steem, then I am disputing whether you are an Officer. Your status is in jeopardy.

Contributions must be made in increments of 1 steem. 1 steem is the minimum contribution.

For any disputes, I believe the rules are plainly laid out here:
Steem Island crowdfund. This is your chance to own a part of steem island! and Steem Island Inc. UPDATE

Since I feel that all of my disputes are a result of applying those rules to the audited amounts of Steem invested into the wallets of @beep and @steemislandinc, I believe these issues need to be resolved before Officers are selected. In fact, the largest contributor (purported to be 300 Steem) is currently one of the users with a disputed contribution. For his sake and the rest, we all need to be properly invested.

Missing Contributions

I am at a loss how or where four individuals are listed by @riosparada, yet there is no record of their contribution. Please explain this.

Maybe we should reject SBD and other forms of payment? And maybe hire an outside auditor?

Great post and great work. I have no idea what this is, but sounds like you did a lot of diligent research. Keep those people in line.

Wow, this is some serious shit. Good to see how diligent people are in the Steemit community.

Isn't the officer list still open until it reaches 100?

No, until the investment of 1000 Steem is made on the blockchain. ... Unless there is some kind of allowance for the @riosparada donation of his @steemstock account... which amounts to roughly 77 Steem, give or take a little or a lot. I am leaving that open, however it was a unilateral decision to permit Steemstock to be a contribution for him.

The Audit tried to cover this discrepancy and leave it open to debate whether this donated account fulfills part of the 1000 Steem Phase 1 investment.

There is no requirement for a certain number of officers to my knowledge.

Ah, okay. I must have misremembered what was being counted.

Might be a glitch or human error
Server might be slow and maybe just doesn't show up to date version...

IF I've understood it correctly, at least 4 people (Including @papa-pepper) were "given" a share as thanks for their contributions to @steemstock

This is in violation of the rules set forth,
though @steemislandinc could have solved that by sending steem in their stead with a memo explaining that it bought a share for them specifically, if they really want them to have a share no matter what.

I never could find that. I could only guess something like that to be the case. Can you maybe remember where that discussion took place? These users seem to be pretty heavy on comments and posts and transfers, so it isn't easy to track down who said what when. The search engines for Steemit are generally poor.

In any case, the "gift" of shares should probably be formalized at an officer meeting, so their status should be provisional until that is done. It can be the first order of business after the selection of officers who contributed directly per the rules.

And of course, that "gift" seems to be unilateral, or in other words, is something put forward by @riosparada without input from me, you, or presumably others. I am glad someone knew about those 4... there were so many posts about the Steem Island project, that it was a bit daunting to find it all out. We need a little clarity at this stage.

With 30 to 50 people involved, it can get out of hand really fast. Multiply it by 100 fold and you've got chaos. No offense to the anarchists out there... but... I wasn't planning on Steem Island to be an anarchy.

Thanks!!

If I remember correctly, I saw the comment about a share being gifted for contributions to Steemstock somewhere on @papa-peppers Steempocalypse post.

I'll try and track it down, I remember the wording more or less.

Got it !

I just wanted to thank you for all your help promoting steemstock. I have given you an honorary share in Steem Island Inc. I know the Post says that I will form the Corporation after we reach 1000 shares but I am already working on it!

Thanks for the audit !
Can't have wrong information on the ledger, if this gets far enough for a legal contract of some sort to be created.

I appreciate your support! I also want things cleaned up and presentable in case there are any legal issues down the road. We might even need everyone to sign off on everything before conducting any business. One of the matters that needs to come up real soon is a participation of officers and whether their silence on a decision or issue will permit everything else to go forward.

Good job in this. Given that the second round has started it's good to have this info.

Well done on the friendly audit @uruiamme, better now than latter for all.
For those that were short will they be able to add only the missing amount to keep that share?

I didn't make the rules... I was not trying to bend them... so the answer is that the short individuals need to persuade the Blockchain that their amounts are correct. If the "1000" Steem threshold for Phase 1 has not been met (more than hypothetically), then they can input more Steem and still meet the minimum.

If I were them I would try. Worst case is that their Steem is returned. Best case is that they could still invest a few tens of Steem, get in, and force out some of @riosparada's claims, or at least meet his.

I think at some point, the extra input by @riosparada might need a compromise. He maybe can donate the @steemstock account, and others can claim a share. It would dilute the shares of people who followed the rules, however, if there ends up being ~1070 shares instead of exactly 1000.

This reminds me, by the way, of how gold mine shares are invested. I have read stories and heard them secondhand in which gold mining corporations operate. The original shares are important in that type of organization, too.

Let's just say that when the "big investors" come to check the operation of the mine to find out why production is stagnating, they better not find gold dust in your pockets.

I know a guy who discovered a gold mine in the Yukon, worked it for a few months himself, and sold the mining rights to it. It was a mess. I should blog about that some day.

Be careful everyone, whether you are at the top or at the bottom or somewhere in between!

This is getting dodgier by the post. If I was you, I would demand that if no island is bought then all the funds are redistributed back in proportion to the amount paid in (not just the amount that was actually paid in). Otherwise, this could just be a 1 year interest free loan.

Good work. If we want this project to lift up it's a must to resolve the issues you bring out with your audit. I'm not gonna judge people on a first ball, but more professional approach should be taken from our so called CEO. Great job, again.

(I'm going to make a joke... don't think just yet about mutiny... here goes.)

Well, the rules said that he was going to be the CEO... it said nothing about that being permanent. :)

Da -- Da..... DAH!!!

Maybe when officers are confirmed, we should audit rules also. If we want serious and legit project it will be good to have all set by law. At least I would expect so. Especially from someone who claim that it's a lawyer.
