Have you ever heard of Pareto Law? Pareto Principle? The 80/20 Rule? Mathematically, the 80/20 rule is roughly followed by a power law distribution (also known as a Pareto distribution) for a particular set of variables. Pareto Law stated that the 80% outcomes should always come from the 20% effects or causes. This principle stresses the effectiveness of something Vs the efficiency of doing it. 20% of what you do is the gold mine if you put your focus on it. This will leave some room for you to monitor what should you keep and what should you get rid of in order to maintain the optimum performance of your life or even business. For instance:

20 % of your daily activities will account for 80 % of your daily results. Every morning, you should at least have known what your daily goals for the day by jotting them down on a piece paper the night before. For example, let's say you have 10 things to do today. List all of them based on how valuable they are. What you could yield 80% of your personal targets is where your focus should be.

  • In Business

If you are entrepreneur, you should totally know the flow of money in your business more than anyone. Even I, as a writer, always take account of which publisher I should send my manuscript to. For example, a publisher who could give me 80% ROI for even just one book is always better than 4 publishers giving 20% ROI each. If making that post on your website and emailing that clients would give you 80% results more than meeting a random strangers to offer them your business? Then, do the 20% that you give you 80% results.

You can implement this 80/20 rule in your voting power, like making you sure you're not voting when your vote power is less than 80%. I believe there's one or a few posts by Whales that explained about how your voting power calculation work with each percentage of vote being applied. But then again, your vote power depends on how many SP you have, time of voting, how many voters with higher voting power competing against each other, so a lot of other factors should be taken into account. But this method will discipline you to carefully choose a quality content and make sure the posts are worth your vote.

You can use or experiment with this Pareto's Law to see how it work it and the impact it carries. But as any other strategies or plan, this is a 100% foolproof method but that doesn't mean it won't work.
