Almost All the Bigger Bid Bots Are Making Max Post Age To 3.5 Days

in #steemit7 years ago

Hello Everybody!

You guys may have noticed the bigger bid bots in the market almost all of them have changed their Max Post Age to 3.5 days, which I guess is really a good sign, I will explain below why this is good for all of us.

But how all this happened?

Background

Yeah, I guess you guys are well informed of the guy @grumpycat, who just from nowhere appeared with a huge Steem Power and announced some new set of rules for the Bid Bots.

This was his first post announcing the deadline:

Warning to vote buyer/sellers! - Introducing GrumpyCompliance, mandatory in 14 days. (No more post-promotion allowed past 3.5 days)

https://steemit.com/steem/@grumpycat/warning-to-vote-buyer-sellers-introducing-grumpycompliance-mandatory-in-14-days-no-post-promotion-allowed-after-3-5-days

But I guess no one took that notice serious and then @grumpycat stepped and started his operation downvoting posts which tried to earn bids on the 6th day. I guess that stopped some accounts from buying upvotes but not the whole, so what @grumpycat announced then is that, he is going to downvote posts which are buying bids from Non-GrumpyComplaint vote sellers irrespective of the age of the post.

This was his announcement post:

Non-GumpyCompliant vote sellers are now to be used exclusively to profit from the reward pool!

https://steemit.com/abuse/@grumpycat/non-gumpycompliant-vote-sellers-are-now-to-be-used-exclusively-to-profit-from-the-reward-pool

And then he started his operation downvoting those posts buying bids from these bots leaving a comment to inform.

And eventually, this is the result of that operation launched by @grumpycat. Just look at the red boxes showing maximum age of the posts in order to receive upvotes from these bid bots. No one is going beyond 3.5 days, even some have gone down than that.

My Views

Well, I should thank @grumpycat for his efforts in doing so, because I myself saw some really low-quality posts receiving some huge upvotes from bid bots on the 6th day, which purely showed that it is not more than simply for profits. These things ain't going to help us in our future because you may know that Steemit is only for those who are producing a good content and earn rewards for that.
So @grumpycat proposed idea is to make max post-age to 3.5 for receiving upvotes from bid bots, because that will give us a good chance to see posts if they are overrated or you know received more than what it deserved.

So it's a good sign for the community that lame low-quality posts receiving heavy upvotes could get noticed and may get downvoted for having a maximum time until it is payed out. As you know that bots can't know what is a good post and what is a low post. They only know Upvotes on posts received in links.

I also appeal to the community to stop these low posters and make them produce something good or at least make them try to produce something good, because you gotta be an idiot to not understand a good post or effort behind a post.

So again, I should admire @grumpycat for his awesome job, you have done it dude. It's a positive step in the success of this community.

Don't forget to share your views.

Thanks

Grumpycat is a sham, and abusing the power he has.

This is worse behavior than the "scammers and spammers" that he is downvoting. There is ABSOLUTELY no reason for him to reward himself 163 dollars to "rub it in" that he downvoted an account designed to spread rewards and support new users. Behavior like this will ruin this platform, and supporting this kind of behavior will make it partially your fault. Grumpycat is bully and raping the reward pool just as much (if not more, considering the self voting) than any of the accounts he is downvoting.

gimp-cat is a wreckless and soul-less hypocritical piece of shit. He should be ashamed for his lack of integrity and any decent content of his own. The stupid piece of shit can’t even spell words correctly.

Well I just kind of unveiled what he had done in making these bots come to 3.5 days.
The rest if you don't agree with his actions, it's up to you.
But I believe you can't steal this credit from @grumpycat

I agree with his goal. But the way that he has decided to do it is disgusting. "Hurt the customer to damage the business". The problem is the bots, and grumpy cat is flagging INNOCENT people. And no one bothers to comment on the real issue, the grotesque 163 selfvote. NO ON DESERVES 163 DOLLAR UPVOTE FOR SAYING "Rubbing it in". That is just being a selfish, greedy asshole. Quit sucking grumpycats dick in hopes he will upvote you and take a closer look and see the real damage he is causing. bullshit vote.PNG

I believe, good sir, that you are just as blind as he wants you to be. He isn't doing the platform any favors. He is hiding behind this mask of "I'm trying to help the platform" to blind idiots like you from the real damage he is doing. Hundreds of dollars in selfvotes, downvoting innocent people. All because he wants to be the only one allowed to use specific bots? You do of course realize that he buys votes from the same bots that he keeps telling everyone else not to use, while cashing out hundreds of SBD a day to the exchange. He isn't helping Steemit, he is robbing it.

Okay so you are crying for the flag and what about you flagging others for no reason?
Don't be an idiot. Try to understand the post.

I'm not crying about the flag, you moron. LOOK AT THE REAL DAMAGE HE IS DOING!!! You sticking up for him is the real damage. Look at this selfvoting crap!!
bullshit vote.PNG
What part of that comment deserves 163 dollars? Are you blind? Fucking Retarded? No, you are just mad I took away the dollar vote that you didn't deserve for sucking grumpies dick. Pay attention to what is really going on. Did you even read my comment? Clearly you didn't, as your response clearly shows that you only care about the dollar vote that you lost. How about if I upvote you for a dollar. Will you pull grumpies dick out of your ear long enough to listen to me then? Your support of grumpycat is transparent, in that it is obvious that you aren't looking at the bigger picture, or the REAL PROBLEM at hand. You just want to support him in hopes of getting his massive upvote. You sir, make me sick. Selling your fucking values in the hopes of an upvote from a soulless monster.

Don't be a sissy.
Didn't your mommy teach you manners?

You sir, a an idiot.

And I didn't "flag you for no reason". I flagged you because your comment did not deserve any rewards. You did not "expose" anything. You ignorantly looked the other direction from the REAL ISSUES at hand, and made a "rub grumpycats dick" post that you already made well over 200 dollars in rewards from. You don't need any more rewards for sucking grumpys dick. He is maliciously and blindly downvoting INNOCENT ACCOUNTS, not just mine. I run a support project for supporting new steemians who just joined the platform. If grumpy cared at ALL about this platform, an account like mine is the LAST place he should ever downvote. That is the real issue. That is why I flagged you, and why I have flagged him. Not to mention the fact that he said he flagged me for buying a vote on the sixth day. That just plain never happened. If grumpy is going to go on a fucking crusade and say "it's for this reason", he should at least make fucking sure that the people he is flagging ACTUALLY DID the thing he is accusing them of. He flags innocent accounts, and people like you PRAISE HIM FOR IT! "Hurt the customer to damage the business". Well, truth of the matter, that is the single most vile business practice that I have ever heard. A lot of innocent people are being flagged, and the only one making out for it is grumpy.

Lol sissy

This is exactly the kind of blind ignorance that I was talking about. You are fucking cattle. You are exactly the kind of pawn that grumpycat expects to back him up. Clearly you still haven't actually read any of my full comments. You just want to fight me in hopes of getting an upvote from grumpy. It's pretty pathetic when you think about it. Grow up, child.

interesting perspective.
i try not to get into the political aspects of steemit as i do not know the full story.
i do read the varying points of view.
thank you for your view and observations.

Yes, let us not forget the shameless sucking of grumpys dick across the platform while people hope he upvotes them, all the while ignoring the real damage that grumpy is doing. Have you grumpycat's ridiculous selfvoting? bullshit vote.PNG
Even IF I agreed with grumpys philosophy of "hurt the customer to damage the business" (which is one of the most vile business practices I have EVER SEEN), there is NOTHING in that comment deserving of 163 dollars. That is the real damage that grumpy is doing to the platform, and he convinces people that he is a good guy and "cares about the platform". No he doesn't. He cares about his own pocket. If he cared about the platform, behavior like this would NEVER happen.

But it's a good step though

Can someone explain the 6 day vote works?

Jeez, it sucks to see people downvoting peoples posts like that. We should aim to keep building the platform since its an example of how social media should operate.

But its more than social media

It's social media with money and robots. >:)

great to see this, first time I hear about @grumpycat . I imagine there are still people that advocate doing you bot upvote time in the last days in order to give back to your community of voters.

Me I would only use bid bots as a means of promotion, not sure if there is a best way to go around this, just adapting to current times I guess.

This is what I do, use it for promotion

This is a farce. A poorly writen play designed to blind the average steemian to the damage that grumpy is doing to the platform. Grumpycat used the same voting bots that he is downvoting other people for using. He doesn't even follow his own rules. besides that, he uses his massive steempower to selfvote his bullying behavior. bullshit vote.PNG
That is being a bully, plain and simple. It is disgusting and vile, and people look the other way because of his bullshit story of "I'm trying to help the platform". well no, he isn't trying to help anyone or anything except for his own pocket. NOTHING about what he is doing is good. I understand the whole 3.5 days for the bots, but the problem is with the bots. Hurting innocent steemians to get the bots to comply is just terrible.

Lets say the future of steemit is getting brighter everyday. Thanks to those making several efforts of improving the platform.

There's no data that shows bots changed their max age due to @grumpycat. Further, there is data that suggests some bots were going to change even before @grumpycat existed.

Last I checked there are 0 bots claiming to be grumpy compliant. That is none are using the seal of @grumpycat or attributing any changes to @grumpycat.

Sure @grumpycat stirred up a lot of bad feelings and stole a bunch of innocent people's earnings while at the same time rewarding those abusing bots. Let's not forget that @grumpycat used 6th day voting bots even after announcing how bad they are. However, this is nothing that suggest bots altered max age because of this.

This is the equivalent of a primitive race worshiping an idol because it appeared the same day a drought ended.

Let's not forget https://steemit.com/life/@firedream/open-letter-to-grumpycat

Dude, I have noticed these changes coz of @grumpycat coming into this.
Before that I didn't notice anything.
Whatever @grumpycat is doing it's upon him, but you can't steal this credit from him.

grumpycat is a monster, and doesn't deserve you kissing his ass. he flags innocent accounts under the guise of "morality", and anyone stupid enough to support him clearly can't see the big picture and the real damage that grumpycat is causing. Or you do see the real problems, but you just keep stroking grumpys ego in hopes that he will upvote you.

Let's also not forget the disgusting selfvoting behavior of grumpycat, rewarding himself over 160 dollars in an upvote for BULLYING A PROJECT DESIGNED TO WELCOME NEW USERS TO THE PLATFORM.
bullshit vote.PNG
Regardless of if he helped the problem with the bots or not, that is a completely separate issue. This type of self voting is right up there with the shitty behavior of @checkthisout, @rewardpoolrape and @ieatrewards. This whole "crusade against the bots" is just a thin veil designed to blind people to the real damage that he is causing, under the pretense of "I'm just trying to help the platform". If he wanted to help the platform, then he would actually LOOK at the accounts that he is flagging. We aren't all scammers and spammers. If he cared, he would try to reach out to some of these innocent people instead of blindly flagging EVERYONE for doing something that he himself is guilty of.....

Thank you @aftabkhan10 for making a transfer to me for an upvote of 2.64% on this post! Half of your bid goes to @budgets which funds growth projects for Steem like our top 25 posts on Steem! The other half helps holders of Steem power earn about 60% APR on a delegation to me! For help, will you please visit https://jerrybanfield.com/contact/ because I check my discord server daily? @sneaky-ninja and @pushup are the only two remaining significant bots still opposing @grumpycat's royal decree.

Wow. You are the first person to explain GrumpyCat in a way that I can understand, and I follow GrumpyCat!

I was drawn in by GrumpyCat's crypto coin logo, which I think is great.

changing it to 3.5 days does not solve any issue with people misusing bots. In fact it will encourage the spammers to invest more money into what they are doing because now they are starting from 3 days instead of 6.

there is only one thing that this does, allow people more time to flag them. However people simply are not flagging them, there are just not enough people that care to to even make a dent.

The issue is not how long someone waits it is about whether they abuse the system. many people that wait until 6 days do not abuse the system.

Some simply don't have the money until then, others are trying to leave a nice suprise for a friend just before payout so it remains a surprise until they see it payout. which by the way is exactly how Sneaky Ninja Started. Leaving large upvotes for people with good content just before payout as a pleasant surprise for them. Thus the name sneaky.

The only thing that will actually help the issue is managing a proper blacklist which is hard for single bot owner to do on their own. This is why many bot owners have gotten together and are currently developing one that will be shares among all bots and other places across steemit.

don't be fooled by grumpydick. he is just a tyrant, terrorising for his own benefit. He pulls 10's of thousands of steem off of the platform each week using far worse means than any person he claims is a problem.

This is a disguise, a mask intended to strike fear and tyranny. Allowing a person to do these things here on steemit is effectively giving away your freedom. these fear tactics have been used for thousands of years to enslave people and that is the precise intention of this madman.

@grumpycat

  • You are using your power to hurt innocent people.
  • You are flaging posts that are less than 3,5 days old.
  • You are nothing but a bully.
  • This post is flaged and I will continue to flag your posts unless you stop your bully actions.
    https://steemit.com/life/@firedream/stop-the-grumpycat

And you are a theif!

This guy is a spammer, ok. Thanks for bringing him to my attention. This is how the situation should be handled. I can now add this guy to my blacklist. this actually helps solve the issue. Your tyranny and thievery of innocent people does not.

You are giving more weight to the negative aspect while ignoring the positive aspects.
You shouldn't be saying this glass is half empty, rather you should say it's half full.
maxresdefault.jpg

And this is not his fault, this is our own fault for not going after these shit posts payed highly with this much time before the payout. @grumpycat has only given us this chance, now it's up to the community to do so, coz he can't reach to all on his own.

Don't know why you think like that coz you seems to me pretty intelligent sober guy.

@grumpycat seems like nothing short of a bully, who thinks themselves to be the steemit police. What a sham. Lately there has been obvious targeted attacks by @grumpycat. This menace needs to leave people alone already!
