  • Why 60 percent, why not 100 percent you may ask? As a mom to be I need to start saving for diapers and college for the human to be ;-) I believe in sharing, and spreading positivity while also helping oneself – and hopefully, as time goes on, I’ll be in a position to help without taking much for myself. Isn’t that the dream? Now if the post earns very little - which is a real possibility - I will make sure the winner receives at least $10 worth of SteemI think there’s a notion that when you help others it should be 100 percent about them, and you shouldn’t benefit. That intentions are somehow less pure if you’d like to gain by giving. I disagree. How can you help others if you aren’t in a position to help yourself?

On Gratitude

I think there’s a notion that when you help others it should be 100 percent about them, and you shouldn’t benefit. That intentions are somehow less pure if you’d like to gain by giving. I disagree. How can you help others if you aren’t in a position to help yourself?

I believe in the law of attraction and karma. I believe there’s enough positive energy for everyone to succeed! I think when you do good, good comes back. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with believing a random of act of kindness towards another person could have a positive outcome for you.

That said, giving with strings attached is something different. Intention is everything, and if you are only doing something for another person because you hope to benefit, and don’t care what happens to them…well, that’s called using, and don’t be surprised if karma works against you. I know this from experience. I always joke I’m a ‘good’ person because when I’m not, I suffer from instant karma…and like they say, she can be a…b word ;-).

I truly believe that the key to the best outcome, the key to getting what you want in life for you – and for those around you – is through gratitude. I think that’s what a lot of literature on the law of attraction leaves out.

There tends to be a focus on obtaining what you want, visualize and it will be…without stressing the importance of first being grateful for all that you already have, and then taking action. While you many not be rich in finances, the fact that you woke up alive today is something to be grateful for. If you’re on here, you took the action to type Steemit.Com into your browser ! Yay, action. But, if it weren’t for all the other Steemians, there would be no point of coming here, so we must all be grateful, and take time to show that gratitude.

But without both attitude and action, there’s no manifestation. To paraphrase the first documented hippy – “insert your higher power’s name here helps those who help themselves!”
