Follow for Follow?
I recently took this pic of some cute little ducks following each other at a park (HAHAHA!)
This little guideline is the dumbest thing I've read so far on steemit!
If people followed the little suggestion of "don't do follow for follow on here, this isn't twitter", then how do people gain any kind of real following? Come on! You've got to be kidding me.
"You don't want unwanted trash posts clogging up your feed"
I'm not sure if anyone has noticed - there's going to be and are trash posts on here and every other social media website, blogging website, even restaurant review sites! Nothing you can do to shield yourself from it in your little snowflake bubble! If you don't want to read something from someone then you just don't read it. You don't have to scroll through your feed, you know that right? You can actually *gasp* click on whatever tag category you want to (ya know, to the left of your feed) and if you scroll all the way down, you can find the link to go to "all tags" and choose the category you wish to scroll through. There's quite a few, like a bajillion of them.
If you limit / restrict following people, you're going to miss out on some pretty interesting content and / or interactions with people. I've found some very interesting and helpful things by checking out my followers blogs and I'm super grateful for that!

I think it's kind of rude to not follow someone back honestly and here's why:
That person didn't have to click the follow button. They could've kept on scrolling.

That person is showing an interest in you, your blog, or just maybe hoping ya'll can connect on some level. Remember, some people are lonely and chatting /connecting online can really brighten someone's spirits.
That person may be intrigued by one of your posts and enjoy your cadence / the way you write which makes them want to see what else you have to say in the future. This is kind of flattering and just super cool! It could get you upvotes eh? (Ahh, your interest is a little peaked now huh? I have to appeal to the selfish side because we all have that lol - we all want to earn a little somethin' somethin' on here don't we? Yes we do!)

I, personally, like the idea of follow for follow because it can really bring you some interesting things, all around. You just never know. Someone may be able to bring some kind of real value in the future, but you won't know unless you follow them back or follow in the first place.

It's almost like when you're out in the real world and someone says "Hello!" and you would naturally respond with some sort of kind greeting right? It's just common decency. Well I see follow for follow as the online equivalent. My opinion.

I'm sure people will disagree with me, and honestly I welcome the debate. Because other than "not wanting trash in your feed" what's the harm in it?
Feel free to get to know me in my intro post
And here's my opinion of something else: walking
Thanks for sharing your open thoughts, and I do agree with you as a follower. Happy Easter.
Thanks! Lol, I think I'm still trying to find my "voice" haha. Happy Easter to you as well! :)
