I believe, this is the best thing Steemit has done. The home page is filled with posts of people I have followed. Which in turn means I have liked their writing and ideas once and it is likely that I would like them again and again.
I did not use the "feed" option much before, but now this "home" screen is killing it. Just as I logged in, I saw this post of yours.
It tells about a great person with great initiative. @williambanks it is awesome that I follow you. Cheers :)
I totally agree. The feed feature is great! Unfortunately it also presents a danger of monoculture.
We run a real risk of locking out new people who can make excellent contributions to the platform simply because we can no longer see them easily.
This is one reason for #nameinlights
Unfortunately the feed feature as default home page is going to be harder for people to build a following now. So by bring in not just the people we are following but those that follow us, my hope is that the best can rise up to the top of everyones feed.
We don't yet have a share option, but I think in a way that perhaps this will be better way to discover new people anyways.
By the way I too love origin stories. So I was really impressed with your recent post on the origins and meaning behind yoga. I literally had no idea.

I agree.
Yes, this initiative is a great one. All the best.
