A lot of newbies - if not all - that start up here on Steemit realize that even though they invest a lot of work and time to prepare their posts, it ends up getting 3 upvotes in the better case (1 from self upvoting) earning them net a full $0.03. And that is the main reason that they get discouraged and quit. What newbies might not know is that there are several ways to get a boost of upvotes with what to start some free and some paid.
So in this post we will give you some info about how to get upvotes. This is written by me - a newbie myself - so there might be some resources I overlooked. I will try to give you all the details how to make it work.
First I will focus on the different upvoting bots and how you can get them to upvote your post.
Disclaimer: Before using any of this paid bots, always check their blog and power to be sure that you get a good ROI. I don't guarantee and not responsible for loss of any kind due to using them.

- Populate "Amount" field with "2" (Steem or SBD)

3. @booster
Price: You decide your bid
@booster works like an auction. You bid how much you want - no minimums, and approximately every 2.4 hours @booster places a 100% vote splitted to all bidders based on their bid. For example @Axe & @Bob both bid for the same voting batch. If @Axe bids 4 SBD and @Bob bids 2 SBD, @Axe will get 66.66% and @Bob 33.33% etc.
Here's how it works:
Ensure the post you want to vote on has not paid out or is not within 12 hours of payout
- Navigate to your Wallet
- Select Transfer under Steem Dollars
- Populate "To" field with "booster"
- Populate "Amount" field with any amount you want
- Copy the URL of the post you want @booster to vote on
- Paste URL into Memo field
- Submit
If @booster is not able to want you will get refunded. You can calculate your ROI by going to http://steem.cool/booster/

4. @discordia
Price: You decide your bid - no minimum bid
@discordia works similar to @booster but with smaller Steem Power. They updated now and there is no minimum bid. Approximately every 1.2 hours @discordia places a 100% vote splitted to all bidders based on their bid.
Update: @ausbitbank who powers the @discordia bot commented below, that the bot votes every 2.4 hours and not as posted here.
Here's how it works:
Use the same instructions as @booster just change the "To" field to @discordia. Also they claim - no refunds. So always check their wallet to see how much bidders there are.
See all rules here: https://steemit.com/discordia/@discordia/i-m-growing-quick-and-the-rules-just-changed-again
5. @lovejuice
Price: You decide - minimum bid 0.01 SBD
@lovejuice is similar to @booster that it works like an auction but with smaller power and a shorter timer. @lovejuice votes every 36 minutes. Please note that the overall vote is only worth $0.80 so before you send any funds - check their wallet and calculate your ROI.
Here's how it works:
Use the same instructions as @booster just change the "To" field to @lovejuice. Also they claim - no refunds. So always check their wallet to see how much bidders there are.

Much needed post! Thank you for sharing it.
Glad it helps you out.
I got a bellyRub and this post has received a 0.34 % upvote from @bellyrub thanks to: @emble.
@discordia actually does 2.4hr rounds for the time being, and I've raised the suggested bid to 0.1 sbd but its up to free market demand how much is actually required as I'm not rejected lower bids.
I'll make sure the profile page bio always has the most recent stats and rules available, and please do check the wallet and steemnow for todays Steem Power to figure out profitability.
This isn't a scam, and its not designed for personal profit - but please be warned I will not refund as all bids get automatically turned into SP delegation orders for rapid growth.
Since I watch all @discordia bids, the real advantage comes from suggesting other peoples top quality original posts because I regularly upvote and resteem the best stuff coming through.
My vote isn't being sold or guaranteed however, content still gets judged on a per post basis as I normally would in my day to day curation - but you have a far better chance this way then if you spammed me your link in unsolicited personal messages like hundreds of other people every day :)
Thanks for commenting, I took it from this post https://steemit.com/discordia/@discordia/i-m-growing-quick-and-the-rules-just-changed-again. Initially I wrote 2.4 hours but changed after seeing that post.
Sorry, I know its confusing with the rapid fire changes in the initial period - thats why I recommend people treat the profile status message as the primary info source for what the current rules are :)
