What is up with these bots waiting for more bids at 100%?

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

If you are like me, you check out the amount of bids at https://steembottracker.com/ before deciding to take an upvote from a bot. However, I've noticed this phenomena with some bots that if they haven't received enough bids, they hang at 100% and wait for more bids to come.

So, just when you thought that you would be getting a good upvote from those bots, they spoil your party by hanging at 100% and collecting more bids. You ultimately end up getting a really bad upvote.

What is your experience with voting bots? Have you noticed the same thing with some bots? Don't you think these bots are cheating by doing such a thing? I would love to know your opinions on this.

Yes some of the most popular are the voting bots. They up vote the posts for some SBD in return.. Some other bots don't give satisfied response but I am not mentioning here. @hmushtaq

I have also not named those bots, for obvious reasons :)

I did tried some bid bots after reading about them, after putting a bid and got a small profit i thought maybe I could use them but after seven days the vote amount only decreased until I ended losing more than I put, so I stopped using them, I think like everything bid bots are a gamble, I prefer using my sbd to rent SP, or buying SP, I think it is the best option for earning something instead of gambling it.

True. Bots are risky to use. Even with the good bots, you never know when someone comes up with a big bid in the last minute.

Yeah it is too risky, I think the only way to win with bid bots is making your own bid bot, but not everyone has the skills nor the money for making one, that's why they are able to make a profit or even break even, no to mention they still win curation rewards.

I had not tried buying votes from minnows booster so I don't is that's also the same case though.

This hasnt happened to me, but a couple of friends make such complains

Maybe you only use the good bots :) I myself note down the names of the bots who do this, and never ask for a vote from them anymore.

Make a list of these "not-so-good" robots

Hmm, no, I won't publish the names of those bots. Otherwise I might risk being flagged by their owners :)

I think the biggest argument against bots for Steemit.com, is against "mindless" dumb bots, that only know how to vote, without holding any regard for the content, quality or the sources of an article, they vote goes to the higher bidder.

Also some bot don't give us a satisfactory upvote amount
