No, GOAT doesn't refer to the gnarly gnuish-looking farm troll, but Greatest-of-all-time.
For the first time in history, a team will advance through the NBA Finals without a blemish, recording 16 straight wins en route to winning its second World Championship in three years, having faced the Cleveland Cavaliers in the last three consecutive.
Oh, don't think this premature....it isn't. Not in the least. Most people knew that this showdown would happen a year ago after Kevin Durant had signed with Golden State. I am just not sure how many people knew how well he would fit into an already-winning scheme that Steve Kerr had working. I, for one, am not surprised, and it goes to show how efficient, selfless play and a lot of talent can go a long way.
It's funny, Cleveland will be playing at home for the final game, yet they are currently 6.5 point underdogs. That roughly translates to begin 14.5 point road dogs with the same teams considered. Vegas knows it, the NBA knows it, LeBron (how many other NBA stars have been swept twice in the Finals can you name?) James knows it. Do you?
If you want to bet the game, you have to pay. You can get more than 2:1 on your money to take Cleveland straight up to win at home. Let's see, that has happened how many times in a Finals matchup??? ZERO! Never has the home team been "+250" on their home court. The History has already been written. And even though on any day, any team can win, Cleveland won't. Look for Golden State to wrap up the series, go undefeated in historical fashion and crown the next NBA Finals MVP, Kevin Durant.
I think the Cavs still have enough pride to win at least 1 game not that likely but im not a guy to ever count Lebron out.
Thanks for replying. I agree you can't count him out...in normal circumstances. The NBA would never miss out on the chance to market itself in a way that a feat like "perfect" would. I would say LeBron has been counted out, much like a pro wrestler getting a ten-count outside the ring when he was nowhere close to being defeated. Stick a fork in em...they're done!
Humble Pie...it's what's for dinner. Shocked I am by the Cavs...WOW!
Baaah!
