Hello Steemians,
This contest is to help spread the love and to continue to help each other and build here on Steemit. The contest winner will receive $10 SBD. As many of us know, Steemit is a platform that allows us to grow and get stronger with the help from our fellow Steemians here in the Steemit community. So I want to do my part and give back. I am still pretty new here and would love to be able to help someone have an opportunity to continue to build here on Steemit. The contest is pretty easy to enter. To enter, simply comment and vote. ReSteems are also appreciated. The more votes and Resteems the more the contest will be seen. If the Contest is successful, I will either increase the prize or add an additional winner.
Everyone is welcome to join minnows to whales. I personally know (and some of you may know too) how hard it can be sometimes to develop relationships on here and put yourself out there to the world. That is what this contest is all about, its not just about the SBD it's about engaging and building one another here on Steemit as a family. The thought of always paying it forward. This can be a successful contest. Even if you don't win today, you could win the next one and more importantly you are engaging with me and others which also is helpful. So this contest is a win for everyone!
I love having this opportunity to interact and engage with others on the site. I hope for a successful contest so I can continue to do them and keep giving back to our Steemit community. Hopefully the love will grow and someone will pay it forward in their own special way. For us to be successful, we all must continue to work together. Winner(s) will be selected at random. Please note that the winner will be picked in a Dtube video in a lottery style by me for all to see. (Kind of like the old days where you put everyone's name in a hat) Future contests I will look at doing the picks with something like random.org

Attention...Given the amount of people entered to this point, I have decided to pick the winner with a program/website instead of picking from a hat. I am currently in the middle of creating a post with examples so everyone can see how the site works. I will post Screen shots. This being the first contest I did not consider certain things and I want to try and iron out any wrinkles so future contests are smoother. Many have suggested using the picking machine like random.org, I will be using a program similar called Random name picker. For those who happened to be looking forward to me picking from a hat, I do apologize. Please look forward to seeing a post from me in the next few minutes. One piece of advice, just to make it easy for us users, would be to have the rules in it's own section, either numbered or by bullet points. This would make it easier for everyone to see (and they could easily just scroll down the page and with a glance understand what the contest and rules entail)

My vote is worth nothing and I am a week old on steem .... Can there be a lower level to minnow ? Then I feel shrimp ! and anyways shrimp are cute :)
I had posted about whales , if you want to check my page and follow if you liked it .
I was wondering about the relationship with whales and how whale "hunting" was not somehting I would call healthy .... Building relationships and dialogue is much more and we have to take steemit as longterm investment .
So I an just happy to be here and to get to meet people and build build build and spread out what we are all doing here as some sort of revolution in social neworking !

Hi @jr11 When you say that the winner(s) will be chosen at random do you mean you will choose the winner or you will use a machine like random.org?
Actually for the first contest, I will select the winner on a Dtube video picking the name for all to see. In future contests I will probably use something like a random.org.
