I didn't really have a mentor. Mostly just years of trial and error. Oh, and my wife, Tessa, reviewing my stuff (for grammar, clarity, etc.) was a big help.
There are a few people whose work I've looked over and made little suggestions. Nothing I would quite call mentoring.
