That "ignore Your mother" attracted me to this post and I partly agree. Do Your own thing and not what Your parents want. But there is nothing wrong in getting an education. So You have choices or can follow Your passion. Not everybody is made to be an entrepeneur or businessman.
But I agree to really get rich You need to be in business, not employed and receive a salary.
