Introduction:
For this post, I am branching out from the firearm business and moving into the sale of financial currency exchange. This domain primarily deals with financial analysts and sales managers of said software.
1) Domain Expert
The domain expert is a contact of mine in Orlando. He currently works for a company that specializes in currency exchange software that targets large companies nationally. He is a sales manager and a VP of sales who conducts B2B dealings. I met this person through friends of friends and have forged a friendship as a result. He has given me a lot of advice on career tracks to take to get into his domain, including what types of extracurricular activities to be involved in as well as internships to pursue. This person provides me with an opportunity to possibly get into said company and engage in the same work. Regardless of whether it pans out in the future, I have learned a valuable lesson. It is who you know, not what you know. As a result, I will actively pursue networking and make contacts whenever possible.
2) Market Expert
The market expert for this assignment is a financial analyst I know from back home. He has been in the finance game for years and has taken the time to introduce me to his market and teach me about it. He primarily deals with the procedures that go along with market analysis and exploiting those areas. He is an expert in currency exchange and sees a strong future in the business of currency exchange software playing a large part in this market. He did no favor for me other than highlighting some important areas of his work and giving me a good idea of a field that interests me. He may provide me with additional contacts in the field, but I expect nothing. He has always been kind and may offer additional opportunity to further interact with the market.
3) Industry Supplier
The industry supplier is a computer science expert and programmer. He codes software to use in the business and finance side of things. As a result, he is keenly aware of the ins and outs of the market. I found him through my second contact, the market expert. He gave me some insights into his work, but overall is not the most talkative or open person. His information, however, interested me and caused me to look further into the science and analytics of producing such software. Having him in my network is sure to bring about good for my career, as he is a very bright individual who knows a lot of people and is respected in his field.
