This Proverb is so very potent. I have lost count of the number of times where I was absolutely certain about something that simply was not true, or just plain wrong. This seems to be common to all people. That is why I am frequently praying for wisdom and guidance.
Reminds me of this verse:
But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." 1 Sam 16:17
