Dear fellow Steemians,
I’ve been following developments on Steemit for some time now.
Some things that I noticed:
The posts of SOME USERS find their way onto the Trending page. These posts are well paid, they often make several 100 $ each. VOTINGS of these users count A LOT.
The posts of MOST USERS are NOT on the Trending page and often make less than 1 $. Most users’ votings do NOT count a lot.
I hear that it is hardly possible to land on the Trending page without BUYING votes from VOTING BOTS.
I also hear that it is essential for users who have already accumulated some Steem Power to VOTE for their OWN posts. Many of you are unhappy with the above-mentioned situations!
Now,
This platform’s White Paper says Steemit is an “experiment” (“… designed to address challenges in the cryptocurrency and social media industries”).
Also, don’t forget that we are using a beta version.
What I want to say is that, as users of a beta version, we are supposed to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the platform and to have an open discussion on things that we are happy with, things that we are unhappy with, and on how this beta version may, perhaps, be advanced or adapted in the future.
If a lot of people perceive the “rules” as unfair, we should openly discuss WAYS to bring MORE FAIRNESS to the platform.
In Steemit’s White Paper (p.16), it says:
“One of the primary goals of Steem’s reward system is to produce the best discussions on the internet.”
So,
This is a call to action: Let’s discuss more! 🙂
