RE: Can someone point me to a tutorial or guide explaining the Steemit currency in relation to posts, upvotes, and comments?

Ok - First off... For tech-support on Steemit, I strong suggest that you come to Discord Steemspeak -If you email me tiddlypum (at) gmail.com I will send you an invite to the channel that should have people there who you can talk to live. Until you have 500 or more Steem Power you can only vote 10 times a day before you run out of power with your upvotes. The amount of steem you have determines how much upvote power you have. That means if you have more steem power your upvotes give more steem or sbd. That's a basic thing that maybe isn't obvious at first. To be blunt, if your upvotes are not worth very much, people aren't going to pay attention to you or follow you. See the post that I made recently on my blog about "Lets get real about helping newbies do better on Steem" -- I explain some more stuff there.

Thanks for the reply the 10 times a day thing explains much. I'll take a look at your post. Steemit is some kind of social experiment where they created this type of sandbox and are just letting things play out correct? There is no "rules" per se on if people are gaming the system. I'm not here to gain cryptocurrency or gain followers who just upvote as a value transaction. I'm here to get away from surveillance, data mining, and censorship. "People aren't going to pay attention to you or follow you if your upvotes are not worth much" means nothing to me. I will not be posting anything they would find value in anyway if that is their motivation and I wouldn't upvote something as a value exchange for upvoting me. It's about spreading ideas and being exposed to others ideas. My upvotes come from if I gain knowledge or perspective. I can tell I am in the minority with that here, but thats fine I am in the minority in the real world as well. I've already met some people I enjoy "talking" with on here. Perhaps I am in the wrong place for what I am looking for but choices are limited in the social media world.

If you change the 'it' in Steemit to 'd' or 'db' in any url you will get a wealth of information about that url.
It works on posts and pages.

Steem inflates, 9.5% a year, that inflation is split between sp holders, witnesses, and authors/curators.

Until you have 500sp everything should be powered up.
Trade sbd for steem on the internal market.
Try to set your bid for a bottom in steem/usd, or a high in sbd/usd, the price difference on the external markets will be reflected in the internal market, and power it up.
The more sp you have, the more valuable your vote, and the more the readers will value your attention.
I know that is wrong, but we are raising funds to spread the illumination, eh?

I came early, was told my content wasn't worthy, but continued to beat the drum, anyway.

If steem keeps going up, it will be harder to get any for posting, so post most when the price is down.
When it was .07usd is when i got most what i have, no thanks to the gangs or whales.
My supporters have been either groups i joined early on, or readers that liked what i say.
It isn't easy to get a following among the average folks, the wool is too heavily over their eyes, imo.
