On My Way to Success

Steemit has brought us to a different world where everybody supports each other, everybody is gentle and everybody is patient. We all feel relieved that there isn’t one troll or basher in this platform who makes fun of our grammar slips and poorly written articles. Although being afraid to be “downvoted” is one of the major reasons why we have learned to extend the rope of our patience, nevertheless, it taught us to be more tolerant to other people’s lapses and inadequacy.

However, with all the glorious things that Steemit has brought to our lives, there are still “slow” days. This then lead us to question ourselves if this is really for us.

So, make use of the following steps and use such as your daily reminders why you should not turn your back away from the Steemit community.

Never Compare Yourself To Others

questions-1922477_960_720.jpg
Am I not enough?

I don’t have writing and photography skills like them.

I have to increase my reputation first as I have been in Steemit longer than him.

Why does he earn more than me?

These are just few of the statements that you should avoid telling yourself especially when you are new in the platform. These statements will not only lower your self-confidence but will also affect how you treat the entire Steemit community. Never treat your fellow Steemian as your competitor as we are here to mingle and make friends while we are getting paid showcasing our talents.

Treating this platform as an arena for competition will only burn you out. Remember, if you intend to stay in this platform longer, save your energy for other more important things rather than worrying how your competitors are doing.

Always be reminded of the words of a renowned author, Eugene Cho, who said;

If the grass is greener on the other side, stop staring. Stop comparing. Stop complaining and start watering the grass you are standing on.

Never Measure Your Self-Worth Through Your Earnings

Hi, call me MONEY!

Our earnings in Steemit is one great motivation for us to grow better and improve ourselves more. However, it should not be the basis of how we see ourselves.

This is not only limited in Steemit but also in real life. The amount of money you are earning from your daily job does not define who you are. In Steemit, you have to remind yourself that it takes time and there are processes for you to go through to increase your value, thus also increase your earnings.

The best thing about the definition of “value” in Steemit dictionary is it is not only limited in monetary value but includes the learnings and connection you have gained throughout your entire Steemit journey. Again, Steemit does not only promote monetary earnings but also advocate creating connections and relationships with other people.

Practice the Art of Gratitude

grateful-1987667_960_720.jpg
Thank you!

Steemit has also taught us to appreciate the small things. Never in my life have I been happier receiving cents and few likes(upvotes). Through Steemit, I was able to realize that all big things truly start with small beginnings (Milo commercial. lol)

Never take for granted the power of gratitude. One small “thank you” to the person who commented on your blog post could earn you another follower.

Never Pressure Yourself To Fast Track Your Way to Whaledom

Come on, Whaley!

Of course, everyone wants to become a whale. That is like the ultimate Steemian goal. However, no matter how strong your determination in becoming one, never rush yourself. Again, there is a process laid out for all of us.

The best thing about Steemit is, it has already given us a clearer picture of what we could be in this platform. All we have to do is follow the process and we will surely reach our goals. Stop being too hard on yourself. Allow yourself few rooms to learn more things rather than rocketing your way towards success without enjoying the entire journey.

Allow yourself to get enough sleep. Never force your system to work longer hours in the platform as it is not only unhealthy for your body but unhealthy to your future posts as well. Lack of sleep does not motivate your brain to produce quality ideas.. Therefore, no quality idea means no quality work.

Build Genuine Friendship

Through Steemit, I have friends all over the globe!

Treat this opportunity as a learning experience through meeting new people, reading their works and contributing to their entire success. Your Steemit experience should not be an all about money venture for you.
Build genuine friendship with the people in the platform. Know more about their culture while you introduce yours to them. This way, we do not only make new friends but we are bridging cultural differences through deeper and mutual understanding. We will be able to address the issues of racism and gender inequality if we do this. With this, we can finally say that Steemit truly makes this world a better place to live in.

These are five of the best tips that will help you overcome all the challenges in Steemit. I hope that you are able to realize few things through this article.

I guess you are now back on track. So, bring your A-game and never let anything or anyone stop you from being Steemitly AWESOME!
