Why I am powering down my account for 1 week!

When I began my exploration into different exchanges in the early years of cryptocurrencies I had several experiences with exchanges disappearing with my currencies. The most noteworthy one that many of you probably have heard of was the exchange Mt.Gox.

But that was just the tip of the iceberg of inadequate exchanges. In those days when I was investing in mining companies I got to experience many exchanges dealing in shares being hunted down by FinCEN.

I remember one of my assets in particular jumping trough 4 different exchanges as they got closed down one after another:

When spending a lot of time on Steemit it becomes hard to miss Bitshares and EOS

Already in my time here I managed to win myself some whaleshares over in the Steemit Beat Battle League. Therefore I already have had some first hand experience in using the DEX & Bitshares.

I spent a few evenings plunging deeper into the Bitshares whitepaper as I wanted the knowledge of how the blockchain works.

Some time after my initial exposure to Bitshares the possible implications of a decentralized assets & derivatives market started to dawn on me. Bitshares can help eradicate corruption in literally the worlds biggest markets, It could potentially remove all the need for stock exchanges!

With Bitshares theoretical transaction speeds of 100 000 transactions pr second "without any significant effort devoted to optimization" the infrastructure is already in place.

This is HUGE and exactly the kind of stuff that got me into Bitcoin back in 2011.

The conclusion is: With the current price point of 0.05$ pr Bitshare(!), It feels like I have no choice but to get rid of some of my Steem and invest.

I am currently not in a great spot economically so the only value I have to invest with at the moment is the Steem I have earned trough my 4 months of blogging on Steemit. I hope this diversification will give me some piece of mind as it at the current price point would make me the proud owner of around 1500 Bitshares

My first goal when I fully understood Steem a few months back was to acquire myself 1000 Steem

I am happy to let all my followers know that even with powering down for 1 week I will still have over 1000 Steem powered up on my account! I plan to get this back and more, so I can better reward the people that are leaving real human comments on my blog posts.

My next goal is to become a Dolphine (5000 Steempower) ^ _ ^

Like you have said it.
The future is in decentralized exchanges.
Lots of centralized exchanges have disappeared with the money.
Bitshares will be the future.
But i think before all the people understand this,
They must lose more money.
I can not understand why most of the people are trading in centralized exchanges.
The fees are higher, the security is lower and sometime some features kike deposit or withdrawal are shut down.
This exchanges are like banks.
And thats not the point for what cryptocurrencies are made.

Tusen Takk for a story. I am powering down to experiment steemit before I invest on Steem. The results so far is I cannot post. I had to repost at least 5 times to post & upvote & resteem & reply take much longer time. I will not invest on steem & waste time. I will try bitshares ^^

@euni did you know that you can use other portals like busy.org or even the esteem app? Steem works just fine and can be accessed trough many gateways. Steemit is one of these gateways, but the power of decentralized software is that it gives you the option to use another gateway (like busy.org that i'm currently posting this from now)

Takk igjen. I am trying busy.org, & it seems very fast. I wounder who made this ^^

If you go here you can get more insight into the team behind busy: https://busy.org/team

Diversification is usually a very good thing! When I get to your level, I will certainly be following suit by putting some earnings into various avenues.

As a proud BTS owner, I upvote anybody who promotes BTS :)

Impressive move.

Thanks @juvyjabian
Altough I'm not sure if impressive is the word i would use, it seemed just like the logical thing to do...
I'm planning to invest in some EOS next.

Yeah just a bit of everything would be find and who knows in the next 5 years will be reaping what we sow.
