“It isn't what you have or who you are or where you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it.”

Hi dear Steemians!

Have you ever asked yourself if you are contented enough with what you have now, what you are now, with the persons that you have now? Have you ever wished you were that smart, beautiful, sexy, bigger, and thinner, had a long shiny hair, taller, famous, a better-shaped face, or ever wished to born into a different family or wish to have a better life? Hmm! I guess most of us here wished at least once in our lives. But did you ever know that thinking about all of these things are sign of discontentment in life? (don't get me wrong, it is just only my opinion, and I also wished those things=))

There are so many people in this whole wide world who are not contented with their bodily feature, these are the people who are suffering from having a low self-esteem, who don’t believe in themselves, and being so insecure about the bodily feature of others, I might say that I experience these insecurities but it actually drives a negative impact in my life as a human. You should be realized that nobody’s perfect, God never create a perfect human but he sees us perfect, and it is up to you on how you will look at your world in a perfect way. Each one of us has its unique personality and characteristics. Do not compare your life to others, because we have individual differences, they might have qualities that you don’t have, but you have also qualities that they don’t have. So just always look at to the bright side that you have=)

If we will just think things that we want, it will be innumerable, like “I want that, I want this”. I want to be like that, and this”. Yes! What you really want is not impossible if you just work and strive for it, then it will possibly be yours. But the problems might arise when a person is really eager to have the things that he/she want without any exertion. Why? Because it precipitates greed and envy, and it pushes you to do such immoral things. If you are unsatisfied with what you have it indulge you to destroy the reputation of others, to do theft, deception and we can’t deny the fact that it causes a number of crimes.

Have you ever asked yourself why you are not happy with your life? That is because you are not yet contented with everything that you have.Let me tell you this, contentment is a virtue to make your life happier than ever, as what Fredrick Keonig quoted “We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.” I strongly agree with him, there is no end in yearning things because our world has a lot of beautiful things to offer, Technology also does especially in the makeovers, and gadgets. Oh common! Do you think only materials things alone can make us happy? Take a look at the things that you already have, and you just only have, and just embrace it. There are thousands of different ideas of what it makes you to be happy. But Contentment is the real Happiness =)

Thank you so much for reading my dear Steemians =)

Hi Micch, u got it right. if we just base or happiness on material things, or even any outside things.. we will always want more and more.. it's never enough.. but if we learn to be content with ourself and those thing we already have in out life, then that is true contentment. :)

Thank you so much @chinito for the wonderful perception :)
