I'd be lying if I said that I like cockroaches. I honestly think that they are absolutely disgusting and I think maybe I feel that way because I associate them with filth and nothing else.
Even though I still associate them with filth, I have grown to accept that they play a very crucial role in our environment. Cockroaches eat decaying matter and basically whatever is available and edible thing around them, they are not picky eaters at all. When cockroaches excrete waste , they release nitrogen into the soil. Nitrogen helps in the growth of plants and trees, by giving them energy to produce fruits and vegetables. So they are actually good for something other than just disgusting us!
There are so many types of cockroaches all over the world, but obviously except for Antarctica! But here are a few below.
Types of cockroaches:
- Oriental cockroach:
- German cockroach:
- American cockroach:
- Dubia cockroach:
- Madagascar hissing cockroach:
- Lucihormetica luckae cockroach:
- Lucihormetica verrucosa cockroach:
- Cryptocercus garciai cockroach:
- Forest cockroach:
- Speckled cockroach:
These nasty little creeps can actually hold their breath for up to 40 minutes, and also survive being underwater for 30 minutes!!!! Heck, I can't even hold my breath for 20 seconds and they can for 40 minutes!? Not only that but did you know that they can also survive without their heads! Crazy right!? Imagine how creepy that would look if you found a headless cockroach roaming around your house.
i thought you only get one type of cockroach.. now i see they come in all different shapes and sizes,
There are so many different types of them, the ones above are just a few of them.
