AGONY OF A FAT CHILD

A good number of heavenly talented kids have been hiding under the shadows of low self worth/esteem and that has been more than enough reason for them to think of themselves as worthless. What pains it is to be a child living with abuse and constant insult and hate from fellow children, childhood is a period we need to express ourselves, that’s when we get to discover our true friends and what the world is keeping in store for us, but some kids obviously has no such chance to enjoy the beauty which that moment holds, why! Just because they are “fat”.

Earlier this morning on my way to life's hustle, i boarded a taxi which was not too comfortable but i had to manage so i can get to my work station early, on our way, a young healthy mother stopped us and boarded the same taxi, “mummy the space is too tight” i heard a lovely little voice saying, “Victor has refused to make space for me” she continued to lament, the voice was soo lovely that I had to stretch from the side to see the bearer, it was a cute little girl, amazing eyes and lovely curly hair, but a very fat kid. I felt pained but at the same time was admiring the beauty this little girl possesses.

Other passengers started grumbling about the tight and limited space, you know how people can’t just keep to their business but constantly trying to undermine you. That’s the exact situation that little girl faced today….a particular elderly woman made it soo.. obvious that the girls mum felt angered and decided to speak out for her overweight child, up to the point of bursting into tears, which i saw clearly she was trying to hold in.

Imagine the kind of treatment these little ones that are overweight faces daily, and even from the elderly ones whom are expected to act as a resting shoulders for them. Have you thought about the side lining they face in their various schools? from fellow kids and sometimes even from some mean teachers. The worst thing you can be is always fat and the best is never fat.

Parents can save as a channel of helping these kids stay healthy and fit, pleasing them with sweeten food increases their chances of getting fat and staying fat, we should always be aware that every curve, pound, bulge bone in us is critically and obsessively monitored by those we are not even sure do exist...How would you feel to hear your child say to you, “mummy am being called a pig at school” they say to me “Hey fatso! Go on a diet, you’re too fat to play with us” of course we know the feeling will definitely not be great and also to the child.

Guardians and parents should take time to notice the bodyweight of their kids, it will sure help them to go a long way in keeping their head up high and knowing that mummy always got their back. Get them enrolled for biking classes if there is none at home, go on mountain hikes, make every process of fat burning a happy one,reduce the percentage of calories in their meals, feed them healthy....be sure to drum it to them that body size has nothing to do with worth or intellect or potential.

Feed them fun,kindness and dignity, while helping these kids accomplish this phase of their life successfully, you are indirectly fighting for the dignity and humanity of fat people, lets help the fat kids and people live their lives free of abuse and ridicule. Lastly always keep it at the tip of your finger that health is often a privilege and holds no inherent moral values.
