Steemjet: Re ignite.

in #steemjet6 years ago (edited)

Greetings to everyone out there, welcome to my blog today. Join me as we explore this insightful topic i titled RE-IGNITE.
passion-1.jpg

And I will like to split my teaching under the following sub-topics

● The Pain & Pleasure Igniting factors

● What's really success?

● "Too big to do"

● Procrastination..."I'm not in the mood"/"I really don't feel like"

● Running on anyway!

You may think oh! you haven't lost that passion, zeal or purpose. And perhaps there is no real need to RE-IGNITE anything.
Or you still very much on the course and journey of achieving your life's dream, ambition, goals and God's purpose for your life.
After today's teaching, the Holy Spirit himself will project our status and where we currently are right in front of us. If we reflect and think deeply, many of our actions, decisions and choices are ignited by two basic factors.

● The Need to avoid pain.
● The need to gain pleasure.
Ask yourself, why do you visit the rest room when you feel pressed in your bladder?
Well, I believe many of our answers will be, because we know the discomfort holding it on for too long can cause. Which of course can be very painful. So we rush in to the rest room each time the bladder gets full to ease off the pain and pressure, and gain another period of pleasure or relaxation.
But our need to avoid pain is more dominant over the need to gain pleasure when we have both conditions placed pari-parsu
Ask yourself again, you have N10,000 and you have the option of either treating a paining tooth, or hanging out with friends at the cinema, which will you go for? You definitely won't like to hang out with your friends with your tooth disturbing you. Avoiding the pain instinctively comes first.
Now this is how we actually falter when it comes to taking full responsibility and making the right decisions on our life's dream, goals, and God's purpose for our lives.

You are an author, you have set a goal to write at least one book per month.

The pain & pleassure ignition comes,

pain_vs_pleasure-1.png

  • You definitely have to wake up at night to study, research and write.
  • your energy on social media ought to be directed at making meaningful researches rather than more of keeping in touch with who's online.
    1_7riWvv5jBU85HJiJYlWfIA.jpeg
All the above listed are no pleasure. Your body perhaps won't enjoy it. But the long end result and pleasure should be the main drive in actually taking the decision to go through the pain rather than go through the pleasure of not writing at all.
Someone once said, "nothing good comes easy" You want it easy? then relax and have the comfort of enjoying the ordinary.
So instinctively, we respond to avoiding pain
Your passion is singing and purpose, taking the gospel music ministry to the next level, and the last time you scored a song was a week ago or 2.
    Really??
Experience has taught me that what you stop practicing frequently, starts dying naturally
Let me share something a lil personal!
Some of my old friends on this platform will know that I used to be a musician, a rapper to be precise, Yea! It was formerly secular rap, before I started gospel.
But the passion and zeal starter dying naturally when I stopped writing my lyrics, going to the studio, and taking the mic by the hand. At that time, I diverted my energy and time to coding. And of course, my passion for rapping died slowly. Of course I didn't realize until I was asked by a group of friends to do a freestyle one day, and I barely could put few words together.
    I really dont know what your passion, dream, life-long goal is, but I can tell you this;

NURTURING YOUR DREAMS AND GOALS, IS JUST LIKE HOW YOU NURTURE THE LOVE YOU HAVE FOR THAT YOUNG LADY OR MAN IN YOUR LIFE
IF YOU TRULY LOVE HER, YOU KEEP UP COMMUNICATION! CALLING, TEXTING, CHATTING AND CARING, EVEN WHEN YOU DONT FEEL LIKE

EVEN WHEN YOU DONT FEEL LIKE, KEEP YOUR DREAMS AND LIFE-LONG GOALS ALIVE BY PRACTICING, RESEARCHING AND LEARNING
Let me quickly move to the next sub-topic,

WHAT'S REALLY SUCCESS?

how-to-build-a-strategy-for-business-success.jpg
A very unfamiliar intelligent man, Kacper Postawski defined success in a complex but simplest of grammar.

"Success is when you say you will do something, and YOU DO IT!"
OR
"when you say you won't do something, and you don't do it"

As simple as this may sound, many of us fail at it everyday of the week, every week of the month, and every month of the year. The will to set a goal is very easy, but going through the pain that comes with achieving it now seem to us like a life-long task.
How many of us set new year resolution? I believe many of us do!
You know, after the cross-over night or Thanksgiving, we then take a sheet of paper, and start to write a lot of things we want to do during the year and then don'ts as well! But it's actually of no sense, when you write a bunch of stuffs down on the first day of the year, and few weeks or months into it, you can't remember any point you wrote or where you actually even kept the book.
I will rather imprint it in my head, meditate on what I want to achieve, recite, do whatever! Until it sticks into my head! That way, even when I am going off track, my subconscious can bring the points back to my head. I am not saying writing it down is not good.
Its more like running with it, categorically! You know, one of the small goals leading to another, leading to another, then another! That way. It's hard to forget what to achieve or do next! You can't b confused!
Works for me, doesn't mean it may not work for you though! We different! But the point is if writing it down is not productive, please stop repeating it! Try something else. Many atimes, we often assume every thing to be "too big".

You want to go to submit a proposal

You then begin to think of the bunch of task you gonna have to do to achieve that.
● research about the potential client
● Fabricate a suitable method and approachon how your business, product or service is going to meeting the client need
● draft the proposal
● Reconstruct, if need be
● Deliver the proposal
● Etc.
Really, with the bunch of other tasks your brain has broken the main objective into, you may actually get disappointed and eventually not embarking on writing the proposal at all.
Even though those other tasks are essential, instead focus on the main objective! ...And the possible positive outcome.
If you get thinking of how cumbersome the task can become and perhaps the pain and disappointment of not even getting considered after all these tasks, you may actually not get started at all!
So, here, focus on the possible positive outcome!
Are you a writer, Ignore the thoughts of having to eventually read the book all by yourself, or wasting your time writing. Focus on the many lives you can possibly impact if you actually write that book.
Are you a musician, Ignore the thoughts of "what if no one likes the song, what if It doesn't even leave my phone". Focus on how many people may actually get to like it, the promotion you can possibly get. The bigger opportunities that could actually come around from that particular track.
LET GO OF THE NEGATIVE "WHAT IF's", FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE "WHAT CAN"
Oh we still have 2 sub-topics to go!

procrastination, I don't feel like / I am not in the mood.

Procrastination-A-Step-By-Step-Guide-to-Stop-Procrastinating-WittyWinks-min.png
Well, I believe almost everyone suffers from this from time to time including the Mr talking here.
Oh, I really can procrastinate. But then, I try to limit it to the irrelevant
Did we get that? I mean, I actually do procrastinate atimes, but then, while I still work on it, I try to limit procrastination to the things that are not of high priority. You really need to study at night as a student, that should be Your high priority. There is no light, put on your phone torch! Oh battery is low! Get a lamp! No power there? Get a candle! No excuses!

Sincerely, our generation as youth loves convenience! When almost everyone was against the president of Nigeria for calling the Nigerian Youths Lazy.
Great, I understand! That shouldn't be coming from him, even if he has to, a little bit of better construction perhaps would do. But then on the second thought, we are not lazy youths in the real sense, but perhaps we love doing things at a little degree of comfort.
We love going for the shots when we feel like! When the mood is there, you know
So finally, as i link the previous sub-topic to the last one for today.

RUNNING ON ANYWAY.

man-running-track-1280.jpg
You know deep down inside of you, you need to practice your strings 5 times a week, to reach your goal of moving from amateur to becoming a professional guitarist. And sometimes, when it's time to pick up your guitar to practice, you really don't feel like, the mood is not there. Perhaps, your girlfriend hasn't called you all day. LOL!.
COMM'ON! PRACTICE ANYWAY!
You know you need to spend more time studying as a student, so you can move from being the average of the class to becoming among the top students. But then, most times when you pick up the book, the mood is not there and you really don't feel like
COMM'ON STUDY ANYWAY!
You need to pray or study the Bible at night or early in the morning, and when you up, you know, the morale is not there! Stay there! COMM'ON PRAY & STUDY ANYWAY! sing songs if you have to, stare at the bible if you have to! ....soon, before you know it, the morale will come!
Please permit me to stop here.
