Does 100 SP Still Matter?

I've been wondering lately what is the best use of 100sp for community. When I started @steemit over 2 years ago 100sp became significant when the bull market came. In fact I dumped all my btc, ltc and eth into steem for only 400 steem. I remember setting a goal to get to 500 sp just so I could get that slider in order to divide my votes.

But now I want to know if 100sp matters and how to best use it. If I delegated it to some new or well intentioned steemian would it move the needle for them?

If I powered up 100sp in support of @streetstyle 's SPUD 6 project would it help the entire community more than delegating to an individual. Further, would powering up 100sp help me earn more or give me more power to help more people?

Would delegating to initiative like @steembasicincome matter enough to them to keep them moving forward?

Would delegating to something cool that gives me some benefit be the best use of that 100 steem. I think the leo voter is pretty awesome and delegating more to it seems like a good idea because @steem.leo seems to do everything right.

So tell me. Does 100 sp even matter any more and if you think it does, what would you do with it?

Sort:

I think it matters more than anyone really thinks. It's a similar line of reasoning to anything where the sum of a distributed set of parts equals a greater whole. For example, if everyone on Steem burned 1% of all their STEEM earnings, it would have a profound impact on the total amount of STEEM burned each year.

That's an interesting thought. That would be a cool initiative to try and set up. Maybe a once a year festival type thing. A steem version of burning man! I have a personal life example of that type of collective thinking effecting price. Maybe I'll post about it on @steem.leo

Hey @cflclosers, here is a bit BEER for you. Enjoy it!

Thank you for posting from the https://steemleo.com interface 🦁

Yep. 100 SP is enough to have Resource Credits that makes you author post multiple times a day, comment, resteem, upvote, and perform Steem transfers. :)

edit: It matters. bigger vote to give others both up and down

I think you are right with that line of thinking. However, at .13 right now and with around 2000sp which I have for voting do you think there is a better use for an additional 100sp or are you saying to just power it up and vote with it?

i usually just keep powering up , some would buy tokens in a tribe / or you could put it all on red in kryptogames lol.

@wherein. Not sure what they are up to now, Have a look at who delegates to them and see what upvote you would get , they also send part of curation to you as well as put you on a list for their future token

good luck

Thanks for the info. I am thinking I want to support something outside of me first that will support me as collateral damage lol. I'm thinking of delegating it to @steem.leo voter. Have a !BEER on me @michealb . Its' my favorite token because it has some value.

lol thanks but no thanks on the beer, it annoys me :)

lol. I love getting them, Im pretty fascinated with Steem-Engine and the 2nd layer revenue. I like the possibilities for solving some of steems barriers of entry and success. I have high hopes but tempered expectations. I just think steem-engine will allow people to work on some big ideas. Beer is just a fun way to get some eyeballs on steem-engine.

Even at the l;ow value it has nowadays, it can still help. I came across a Venezuelan who opened an account early 2018 and only managed 2 posts during that period because of only having about 3 SP - and thus just a little useless RC. I delegated 35SP and within months she has a wonderful site going for her, and she is maybe earning more than me. I consider that the best reward ever for me.

What is peanuts to some of us, can actually bring life to the creativity of another.

That's awesome and I've done that a few times but those people flamed out. I wonder how to find some more of those people. I think that is best use of 100 sp but also the riskiest for some. There is so much greed here but if people stop to think that giving some steem away is the best way to protect their investment. I always felt that whales should divide up 1 of there votes and give out it randomly. !BEER

Mine was a child and I told her she keeps the delegation for as long as I see her make good use of it - plus I want to see lots of imagination. She may have had help from her parents, but she has tried real hard.

I guess it is also lck - for instance, a few weeks ago I offered to take back the delegation and send her a slightly larger amount for her to transfer to her SP and she said, "no thnaks", that she wants to concentrate on building her SP and making lots of friends. Luckily the Spanish/Ven communnities have encouraged her and are supporting her.

See? Miracles can happen...especially with children, when we show them that we trust them.

that's totally awesome! You should write about that story. It may inspire others to seek people out and invest in them.

No thanks. Not many people read my posts...they just use their vote bots to vote me and that is the extent of their involvement. Others seem to have the same problem, which is why I am soon posting my stories on a site I will create. There, only those who want to read stories will go (I will welcome stories from others...and if theirs are more popular than mine, so what?)
:)

I totally get it. This place is a ghost town. That's the real problem. People need to work together and promote the authors within the community and get that squared away before any real outreach will work. People don't get that.
