Una mis comunidades favoritas de La Gran Sabana lleva por nombre Maurak. Sus habitantes son cordiales pero también luchadores aguerridos a la hora defender sus derechos como habitantes ancestrales de la zona.
En esta comunidad se encuentra el Colegio Adventista de Maurak, donde niños y jóvenes de toda la Gran Sabana pueden recibir educación integral en la modalidad de internado.
Me encanta la forma en que se vive, el aire que se respira, sobre todo al ver los niños jugando libremente al aire libre sin ningún temor.
La tranquilidad de la comunidad se respira en el aire, las casas sin ningún tipo de protección ni cercados, nos recuerdan los tiempos en que podíamos vivir sin temor.
Cerca de Maurak encontramos un delicioso balneario donde podemos darnos un chapuzón bien frío. Más adelante les mostraré mi visita a la poza llamada Karukuy Meru!

En Yucatán hay comunidades en donde los cercos no son impedimentos para platicar con el vecino, en donde aún se puede agarrar una silla y sentarse afuera a platicar. En mi ciudad, Mérida, se hacía eso hasta hace unos 10, 15 años; la gente sacaba sus sillas o abría las puertas de su casa para platicar entre vecinos. Ahora, la inseguridad en el país cada día está empeorando. Lo que antes era tranquilidad ahora es zozobra; hace poco asesinaron a una chica en una colonia recientemente fundada, y hace unos meses por mi casa, se supone la parte más tranquila de la ciudad, asaltaron y amenazaron de muerte a un señor.
Definitivamente aquellos tiempos eran los mejores. ¿Dónde quedaron? Dios sabrá... ¡Un abrazo, @kaizag!
Así es, en general, la inseguridad nos agobia, al menos hay lugares como estos a donde podemos escapar aunque sea por cortos periodos. Un abrazote @vickaboleyn!
