If you are not already familiar with SteemPress, it is a WordPress plugin co-founded by @howo and @fredrikaa that allows posts made on any WordPress blogs to be automatically converted and posted to the Steem blockchain. Beyond making it convenient to share content published on a website also to steemit.com without the need of added editing, we also provide many added features. Growing our userbase and attracting new bloggers
We hope that with this announcement, we can encourage those of you who have a WordPress blog already to try our plugin. Perhaps some of you may have even considered creating your own website in the past, but never got that far, this could be a chance to revisit the idea. We also hope that the many of you who have friends or people in your network with a WordPress blog or website who you never managed to convince to start blogging on steemit, now feel incentivized to try publishing to Steem using SteemPress. Finally, we hope this delegation can help us onboard many new bloggers and creators of the 76 000 000 WordPress websites out there by providing a low barrier of entry to the Steem ecosystem where they can participate from the comfort of their own blogs.
How to receive a SteemPress upvote
Currently, we are working hard to improve our voting so that we can both efficiently and fairly reward good creators while avoiding enabling abuse. As we believe all Dapps and community projects should have a public curation policy paper detailing the guidelines and considerations for curating content, we will be publishing our own curation policy brief shortly. In the meantime, these are the three main pillars of our voting:
High votes on quality-curator trails
For the past weeks we have worked closely with a selection of curators with a proven record of caring for quality and avoiding spam and plagiarized content to create a dedicated search tool for them to find content. By trailing their votes on posts made using SteemPress, we hope to both benefit from their experience and dedication to finding great content, while at the same time helping them increase their curation rewards through our trail.New user voting pool
All new SteemPress users with an existing blog exceeding a certain age will receive initial welcome upvotes once classified as non-spam original content. We hope this can give new users we onboard who have no previous experience with Steem, but who are quality creators, a good start.Randomized votes
Remaining Voting Power is spread randomly across users with a limit of 1 vote per day per user. To prevent rewarding spam, we have an internal blacklist based on our own records, as well as lists from other communities and anti-abuse projects. We also have an internal rating system of quality to ensure that low-quality posts making it through our initial filters do not receive upvotes of considerable weight. Creators with a proven record of quality, on the other hand, will see higher upvotes.
The SteemPress team is aware that while we are still a young project, the latter will continue to take up a larger portion of the votes. We would like to kindly ask for your patience as we work hard to obtain more quality writers and to improve our voting. In this process, we invite all community members to give feedback on how we can improve or report instances of where we have supported plagiarized content or obvious spam.

i did the math and we only have 49 million steem ro around 70-80 million doillars worth of steem to buy and power up to push down our liquid supply to around that of or less than bitcoin, like to make it so theres only like 20-30 million liquid steem .. cuz 78 million is liquid an dnot powered up out of 269 million total steem, but out of that 78 million only 4 million is on excchanges
SOOOO when you do the math, we need either 1 guy to buy 80 million dollars worth (not likely),
or 80 people with 1 million each (more likely but still eh)
or 800 people with 100,000 dollars each (now were getting into realistic projections)
or 8000 steemians with 10,000
or we get 80,000 steemians with 1000 dollars each (now THAT we can all do, imagine 8000 current steemians all getting jobs with uber or whatyever and saving up enough to invest 1000 dollars each, but whales will need to upvote the users who begin buying AND powering up 1000 dollars worth of steem, and there are plenty of whales who would be doing this anyway!
or we just get 800,000 steemians to invest $100 each and since we only have 1 million accounts and maybe 80-100K active daily users, well, i think we could actually pull this off, even if 100,000 users had to each invest 800 dollars each that would give us the 80 million dollars needed to buy up the 49 million liquid steem across all major exchanges. Then there would such little stem left on exchanges that people would have to pay $100s of dollars per steem just to get one token!

Plugins are in general not made available to websites hosted for free on wordpress.com. It's not SteemPress specific, but goes for other plugins too.
If you want to install a plugin like SteemPress, you should own your own domain name which can be hosted fairly cheaply by many services such as ovh.com, Bluehost.com, etc.

Hey there. Not sure if you know, but I started the @omniloquent page which posts general finance/crypto articles. We're planning on publishing around 200 articles per month and turning it into a massive online publication. We've also started using your plugin to post content from there to Steemit.
I have plenty of content and other niches and would like to create similar websites in different niches. Dating, business, fitness, etc.
If you're game, I'd like to work out some kind of partnership with you. While I have plenty of content and don't "need" any writers, I'd like to be able to offer Steemit users the chance to actually make semi-dependable income from writing articles. I tried to get a delegation for @omniloquent but it didn't work out.

40% of the SBD payout goes to the author
40% goes to the editor
20% goes to marketing partners
The SP stays in the account
This way the author is compensated, the Steemit account grows (which upvotes its own posts to help reward authors), and your plugin gets more exposure.

Not sure where the confusion lies.
But if they are posting elsewhere, they will simply be re-posting here, not using Steemit as their native platform thus making anything they post here a copy of what they posted elsewhere first. I just dont see how this is a step forward for the Steem blockchain. It certainly seems to be a backwards step for Steemit and all those developing native interface apps....of course, I might just be getting my wires crossed. It wouldn't be the first time lol ;-)
It could be the transition to them moving here exclusively, in addition, their followers could see it and learn about Steem and feel it is a better market to be involved in.
It would create traffic and name recognition.

I post both here and on my blog. Anyone coming to my blog sees my Steem ad. They also see an ad for my free English class on Discord, which of course is also a place to promote Steem. I'm sure others have their own ideas about how to use this.

Awesome initiative! TBH @amnlive wouldn't have come to steem without SteemPress: Us comming on was by request from some of our userbase and since StemmPress made it easy to do, we made the leap. So for us it's less about rewards and more about service and finding more readers.
Still wrapping our brains around the entire Steem echo system however ;)

This sounds pretty handy for me. I have a few article I have saved on wordpress and it will be nice to be able to convert them to the blockchain. Only trouble is that I have gotten so used to posting direct from steemit, I have forgotten how to use wordpress :D Looks like I could be going back to school. I've just been made aware of this by @hungryhustle and I just wanted to double check the details.
I've been posting my stuff from Wordpress onto here for over a year, at first I was getting upvotes from the Cheetah bot so I then decided to post my blogs first onto Steemit and then onto Wordpress after. Does this mean that if I install this plug in that I no longer need to post my work into Steemit and it automatically comes up as a Steemit post? Or should I do the same as before? Does this involve the #steempress tag to get noticed as well or would it come up on your radar automatically?

Cool! Glad to hear the network effect is working and that people are learning about SteemPress :)
Right now, our main target users are people like you who we believe we can provide with a more convenient way of posting content from wordpress to steem. So yes, by using steempress you should not need to copy paste the text any more but can instead just post directly from wordpress while taking benefit of our extra features and ability to upvote your posts.
Regarding cheetah. You should not run into any problems if your content is original and not plagiarized from other websites to your blog. I recommend you use our feature that allows you to share a link back to your website at the bottom of the post that is made on steemit. If you still receive a comment, then I suggest you go to their discord server or website to verify your website. One way or another, it should not harm you in any way.

Thanks for the shout out. Big research on this because I'm for wide adoption and onboarding wordpress bloggers to steemit. So far it works and no problems if approached as mentioned. Also, just realized how cool it is to have a media library on my wordpress blog for easily adding dividers and signature graphics to my steemit blogs. That's going to save an hour a week. I think this project has a bright future. Thanks for the mention :)

@hungryhustle I read @omitaylor's post the other day and unless things have changed recently then that doesn't work. I never had problems per se because the cheetah comments were an upvote and not a flag, but I tried posting direct links, writing where and when I had posted before on my Wordpress account but I still got a comment from the bot. Maybe this has changed recently but posting a link, saying where it had come from and pointing out that it was my original content wasn't enough 3 or 4 months ago. Like I said, I never actually got flagged, but seeing a cheetah upvote doesn't look good on the post even when you do clarify multiple times that you have posted on Wordpress previously, so it just became easier to post it on here first and avoid that headache.
@omitaylor good to know that you've tried the Steempress thing and it is working for you. Do you have to pay any money towards it? I'm not really sure what you mean by signature graphics and dividers, all I know is for mine I can copy and paste either direction and it takes me less than 2 minutes. I'm surprised it took you an hour. Unless these signature graphics and divider things you mention are things that can't be copied and take hours to create
Hey @lewisjfclarke, if you post great content then @steempress-io will upvote your post for sure. So @cheetah won't bother you. They do not flag the content without clarifying or warning the users. Also, once you have a f2f with them and get your profile approved, they won't bother at all.
Also, whenever you post through Steempress, there is an option to include a the original WP blog's link. That will also confirm that it has been posted through your own blog using SteemPress.
One more thing you can do. Write a blog post on your WP blog like this:

Sadly we can't for some technical reasons, But the wordpress blog doesn't have to have ssl for the connection to be secure, it's our api that has to have ssl for the connection to be secure, and we use ssl :)
That sounds great! About SSL, one issue I still see is that the posting key is exposed in the settings and can be stolen if a user logs in to his Wordpress blog (without SSL) and his session is hijacked. Maybe it would make sense to hide it after it has been entered?

As for why the money goes in our personal accounts is because we simply need to eat. In two months, we'll both leave our day jobs to work full time on steempress and steem.
Also note that the beneficiaries are not the biggest part of the revenue, curation rewards are (like 2-3x more according to my estimates), so most of the money still goes to powering up the account.
Super excited about this. I've been a bit hesitant about using SteemPress because at first it gave me a connection error, then I was a little concerned about formatting (I use a slightly different format on my blog than on Steemit). But I'll definitely be trying it out tomorrow.

Hello, it's a valid concern, I would suggest you use the delay feature and set it to a week. this way google and co will index your blog first and then tag steemit as duplicate content. This way it shouldn't hurt you :)

yeeh, I did my first post today on @steempress, it's great to have it. Now, we can make use of our blog, from our personal domain wordpress blog, we can write from there and automatically it is posted to our steemit blog too.
A very convenient, now we write beautifully. Humm.. hehehe.. I am still learning how to really write long content.. But for now, I look for quality post.. Thank you @steempress - great having the Steempress plugin to wordpress blog. Easy installation too.

This is a fantastic plugin, I have been using it from my godaddy hosted wordpress site www.wallstreethold.com and it makes it so easy. i put my article on my site with a picture and @steampress-io uploads the article directly to steem with the image included.
Congrats on the delegation. At the moment i copy and paste my content from Steemit to WP, but now I will definitely look into doing it the other way round.
