We are presenting the World Series of Baseball opening in Cleveland. The Cubs and Indians have both shot their way into the series. Its Cleveland's pitching versus the Cubs bats. This should be an epic World Series - two contenders with huge winning droughts.
Tuesday Oct 25 on FOX at 8:00 PM EST
(Wednesday Oct 26 on FOX at 12:00 AM UTC)
Cleveland gave Toronto a run for their money keeping their bats silent to win the ALCS. Proving their pitching talent was far superior to the Blue Jays explosive offense. The Cubs have not seen the powerhouse pitchers in Cleveland because they are in different leagues. We will see if they adjust.
So Far This Season:
Cleveland won the Central division this year. They then swept the Boston Red Sox to make it to the ALCS. They beat Toronto 3-1 to advance to the World Series. Cleveland has its best assets in their starting lineup and bullpen- The Cubs have some great pitcher and are one of the best hitting teams. It is an excellent matchup and Cleveland to show just how good their pitching is. Kluber is set to pitch for Cleveland
The Cleveland Indians are an American professional baseball team based in Cleveland, Ohio. The Indians compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) Central division. Since 1994, they have played in Progressive Field (known as Jacobs Field from 1994 through 2007). The team's spring training facility is at Goodyear Ballpark in Goodyear, Arizona.[1] Since their establishment as a Major League franchise in 1901, the Indians have won two World Series championships, in 1920 and 1948.
The name "Indians" originated from a request by club owner Charles Somers to baseball writers to choose a new name to replace "Cleveland Naps" following the departure of Nap Lajoie after the 1914 season. The name referenced the nickname "Indians" that was applied to the Cleveland Spiders baseball club during the time when Louis Sockalexis, a Native American, played in Cleveland.[2] Common nicknames for the Indians include the "Tribe" and the "Wahoos," the latter being a reference to their logo, Chief Wahoo, a controversial Native American caricature. The team's mascot is named "Slider."
The Cleveland Indians originated in Michigan in 1894 as the Grand Rapids Rustlers, a minor league team in the Western League. The team moved to Cleveland in 1900, changing its name to the Cleveland Lake Shores; the Western League itself changed its name to the American League (AL) while continuing its minor league status. One of the American League's eight charter franchises, the major league incarnation of the club was founded in Cleveland in 1901. Originally called the Cleveland Bluebirds, the team played in League Park until moving permanently to Cleveland Stadium in 1946. At the end of the 2016 season, they had a regular season franchise record of 9,190–8,835 (.510). The Indians have won eight AL Central titles, the most in the division.

Chicago Cubs
Chicago seemed to have a difficult opponent in the Dodgers - but they handedly beat them. Their bats lit up at the end of the series including a game with 10 runs. Cleveland is a pitching team that Chicago players have not seen much of - it will be a tough road for them to travel - but they certainly have the lineup!
Their 2015-2016 record was 103-85. They finished first in the Central division - the national league - and all of baseball. They won the NCDS and NLCS to progress to the World Series.
Chicago has really started swinging. Can they do it against Cleveland's starting lineup? .
So Far This Season:
These two teams are well rested going into game 1. Lester is set to start Game 1.
The Chicago Cubs are an American professional baseball team based in Chicago, Illinois. The Cubs compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the National League (NL) Central Division. The team plays its home games at Wrigley Field, located on the city's North Side. The Cubs are one of two Major League teams in Chicago; the other, the Chicago White Sox, are members of the American League (AL) Central division.
The team, first known as the White Stockings, was a founding member of the NL in 1876, becoming the Chicago Cubs in 1903.[1]
In 1906, the Cubs won a Major League record 116 games, finishing 116–36 and posted a modern-era record winning percentage of .763, before losing the World Series to the Chicago White Sox by four games to two. The Cubs won back-to-back World Series championships in 1907 and 1908, becoming the first Major League team to play in three consecutive World Series and the first to win it twice. The team has appeared in a total of ten World Series, most recently in 1945. The Cubs have not won the World Series in 108 years, and they have not won the National League pennant in 71 years, both of which are record "droughts" in Major League Baseball.[2][3] Since the start of divisional play in 1969, the Cubs have appeared in the postseason eight times. This included five trips to the League Championship Series—in 1984, 1989, 2003, 2015, and 2016.
The Cubs are known as "the North Siders," a reference to the location of Wrigley Field within the city of Chicago, and in contrast to the White Sox, whose home of U.S. Cellular Field is on the South Side. The Cubs have a divisional rivalry with the St. Louis Cardinals, and an interleague rivalry with the Chicago White Sox.Source

How to Play
Vote on the main post to enter the bet (main post rewards will also be added to the Stake Pool).
Cast your Vote Bet on ONLY ONE outcome for which you bet on for the win (Multiple comment votes will be automatically disqualified by the script, unvote and revote counts as multiple votes and will be disqualified).
After 24 hours, the post and related game comments payout to the pool; remember 25% voters rewards are deducted from the total post payout value first as per Steem curation rules. Voters are rewarded in standard fashion in proportion to their Steem Power holdings.
The Stake Pool:
The remaining 75% of the total payout is paid out in 50% Steem Power and 50% in liquid currencies, the latter now varies in payout ratio after the new fork. To make the process less complicated, we have decided to use all paid out SBD to buy Steem in the internal market to create a grand total Steem Stake Pool.
30% of the Stake Pool will be retained, of which 15% will go to the writer/sports presenter of the post, and the 15% balance towards editing, development and advertising.
70% of the Stake Pool will be held until the event/game outcome is determined.
Once the winning outcome is determined, we will execute a proprietary developed script that will divide and pay out the Steem rewards equally, using the Power Up method, to Mass Distribute SP to all participants that voted on the main post as the entrance fee as well as voted on the correct comment representing the winning outcome.
Only participants with a Reputation of 35 or more will qualify to earn SP rewards, but non-qualifiers can still vote and comment in support of the redistribution initiative.
Entry cut-off time is the earlier of the post payout or the start of the event.

@steemsports in the unlikely event that when the Stake Pool is divided up between the winners and the nomenclature resolution goes below the third decimal place (example: 0.0001), then Steem decimal restrictions won’t allow a payout and the pool will carry over to the next game.
Please vote responsibly :).
