There is no doubt that when in form Diego Costa is a world class striker.
He has the ability to dominate and destroy any defensive line-up. He is strong , holds up play well, is clinical with the ball at his feet and in the air. He is an intelligent striker and links up well with other players.
I am not a Chelsea supporter. I actually despise them almost as much as Spurs (had to make that clear) but the way they played last season when Costa was on form was glorious.
But...
For all his talent and ability would you have him in your team?
He is always in the spotlight and a lot of it is for the wrong reasons. I don't know much about what's happening in the background at Chelsea but he seems to demand a lot of attention. The latest drama surrounding him is also not clear - is he to blame or is he being ill-treated by the club?
Should he not just toe-the-line, train with the reserves and get out of Chelsea as soon as possible. It is a World Cup season and his approach to this debacle makes no sense.
It all seems to tie in with his behaviour on the pitch, for all the good that he does he somehow finds a way to come out looking like a complete tool.
Question is... would you have him in your team?
Absolutely, he is a great player. even Konte manages him well, remember he was not that offensive last season. I think that chelsea will not be able to do it again without him.
