Basically ,"what is not chemistry is not worth doing" because everything in life involves the knowledge of chemistry. Chemistry is the study of occurrence properties ,behaviors and uses of non-living components .Our world is made up of matter and we study chemistry to acquire knowledge about matter. We perform experiments and learn to observe, record and make intelligent inferences. Studying chemistry gives us training in the scientific method .This knowledge and training will help us to become scientists in the field of chemistry, and such scientist are known as Chemists.

An alchemist was called a 'chemist' in popular speech, and later the suffix "-ry" was added to this to describe the art of the chemist as "chemistry".
