This seems to be the case, given how many products are sold separately for men and women, boys and girls. So many things are gendered, even to an extent that some might call meaningless: diet soda for men, glasses for women, and so on. All of these things, as well as the apparent aversion of some groups of people to labels such as "cisgender," indicate that some people are insecure and need gender affirmation.
