Bulimia - Anorexia

in #steemstem6 years ago

Hello friends of steemit! You knew that there are two food-related diseases that worry doctors a lot. It mainly affects teenagers. These diseases, although they have psychological causes, can cause serious problems to the body, and there are even girls who die for this reason. They are bulimia and anorexia.

What is Bulimia?

A diagnosis of bulimia occurs when someone resorts to bingeing and purging on a regular basis, at least twice a week, for a couple of months.

Bulimic people eat large amounts of food at once and usually do so in secret from others. Frequently frozen foods are not cooked, or food is taken out of the garbage. They usually feel that they can not stop eating and only do it when they are too full to continue eating. Most people who suffer from bulimia then turn to vomiting, laxatives or excessive physical exercise.

What is Anorexia?

Anorexia is a disorder of eating behavior that involves a loss of weight caused by the patient and leads to a state of starvation. Anorexia is characterized by fear of gaining weight and by a distorted and delirious perception of the body itself that makes the patient look fat even when his weight is below the recommended. Therefore, a progressive reduction in weight will be initiated by reducing food intake.

The attacks of anorexia and bolumia are usually interspersed in the same person. That is, after eating impulsively. There is a period when they barely eat, or vice versa
