This technology has significantly boosted industry and society, allowing new innovative and revolutionary opportunities, such as the first miniature 3D-printed kidney (2002), the first habitable 3D-printed house in France (2018), and the first functional tiny human heart (2019). In 2021, a patient in the United Kingdom received the world's first 3D-printed ocular prosthesis.
