Antioxidants

This is made up of two words
Anti: means against
Oxidants: things that Oxidizes.

Antioxidants can be simply referred to as substances that are against oxidation. They are substances that prevents the damage to the cell. They do not allow the oxidation of cells, food, drug, or products. This is because the process called Oxidation can be responsible for the damage of many things.

Antioxidants are important for the body because of the excess free radical in the body which results to oxidative stress.

Antioxidants have been a major source of income for pharmaceutical industries since some of them are produced in the laboratory.

Types of antioxidant:

There are different types of antioxidants
Natural
AnArtificial(Man-made)

Natural antioxidants: These are the type that are found in food, fruits, and vegetable. This underscores the fact that we need to eat a well-balanced diet to make antioxidants available in the body. Food like Eggs, meat, milk, fruits etc

Do you eat fruits and vegetables always? If not, you need to start.

Also, it is noteworthy to state that the body produces antioxidants after exercise.

Artificial antioxidants: These are made available as food or diet supplements. Some of which are Vitamin C, Butylated hydroxyanisole, Butylated hydroxytoluene, Propyl gallate. They have been found to be effective against free radical and exhibit anticancer effect.

Is artificial antioxidants harmful?

The type of antioxidants that are needed by the body is more than one. This means taking artificial antioxidants will expose us to only one type of antioxidative compound. This is a way in which the body can easily suffer from the deficiency of other needed antioxidants while having excess of one type of antioxidants. It is therefore advisable to eat different fruits and vegetables.

Effect of the Absence of needed antioxidants:

The absence of antioxidants in the body results to illness that ranges in life threatening disease s such as;
Cancer
Cardiovascular disease
Aging
Rheumatoid Arthritis
Headache
Memory loss
Joint pain

Benefits of antioxidants:

The benefits of antioxidants are numerous,
Some of them are:

The presence of oxidative stress is a result of imbalance in the free radicals and antioxidants in the body which has also been associated with the diseases such as cancer, autoimmune disorder and memory loss.

Skin care:
The use of antioxidants in the body helps to combat skin inflammation, as well as moisturizes the skin. Reduce body wrinkle, aging effect and growth of new cell.

A technology that will make the body synthesize some anti-oxidant on its own will ease a lot in the medical world... Nice post @neebootoo

Why don't u cover the addictive part of the man-made ones? Because that's the biggest issue with antioxidants right.
