** He is the Bani Harith bin Ka'ab is a prominent tribe who lives in Najran, Yemen, a region whose majority are Christians. They are also experts in warfare, and rarely unbeatable in the battles it inflicts, so they tend to have pride and feel higher than other tribes. **

In the year 10 hijri, the Prophet shalallahu 'alaihi wa sallam sent an army led by Khalid bin Walid to the tribe. He told them to invite them to embrace Islam for three days, if they refused then it could be fought. Khalid carried out the task, and it turned out that the tribe of Bani Harith ibn Ka'ab received Khalid's call to embrace Islam. So he stayed a few days there teaching some basic teachings of Islam.

After he had given enough teaching and they had performed the specified worship items, Khalid sent a letter to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), preaching the tribe's religion, and also explained some of the characteristics of the Bani Harith bin Ka'ab. The Prophet shalallahu 'alaihi wa sallam sent a reply, ordering them to send a messenger to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), including Khalid bin Walid.

A few days later, the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam saw a group entering the city of Medina to the Prophet's Mosque, he said, "Who is this people, whose face is like the Indians?"

One of the Companions said, "O Messenger of Allah, they are the Children of Harith bin Ka'ab."

Khalid and some of the messengers, who were the leaders of Banu Harith bin Ka'ab were immediately facing the Messenger of Allaah shalallahu 'alaihi wa sallam. These are Qais bin Hushain, Yazid bin Abdul Madan, Yazid bin Mahjal, Abdullah bin Qirad, Shaddad bin Abdullah al Qinany, and Amr bin Abdullah adh Dhibaby. Arriving before him, they said their greetings and said, "We testify that you are the Messenger of Allah, and we also testify that there is no god but Allah."

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) who has recognized the character of this tribe, including information from the letter of Khalid bin Walid, gave an unusual reaction, which welcomed his Islamic joy. He actually said, "I also bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and verily I am the messenger of Allah!"

A few seconds later he said again, "You guys are the ones that if prevented, you just keep going?"

They did not answer. He repeated it three times, but still they did not answer. Only after he repeated for the fourth time, Yazid bin Abdul Madan replied, even he repeated it four times, "It is true, O Messenger of God, we are the ones that if prevented, it will go forward."

After that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, "If Khalid had not written to me that you had embraced Islam without resistance, I would have thrown your head under your soles."

Of course not really like that the Prophet's intention shalallahu 'alaihi wa sallam if only they did not embrace Islam. But he delivered these words to treat and offer (neutralize) their arrogance and arrogance. However, Yazid bin Abdul Madan, representing his colleagues said, "Know, by Allah we are not thankful to you, nor to Khalid !!"

The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "To whom do you thank?"

"O Messenger of Allah, we only thank God who gave us guidance by your intercession ... !!" Although it is 'inappropriate' not to thank the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) for the guidance of Allah which they have received, not to question it, even justify their answer. Then he asked again, "For what reason did you defeat anyone who fought you?"

This time they gave the answer with a different tone. This rather rather praising question raises a 'shame' to stand out in front of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). They said, "We never beat anyone."

But the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) repeats and affirms his question, "No, even you always beat those who fight you."

With a humble attitude, they replied, "O Messenger of God, we always defeat anyone who fights us, because we are always united, not divisive, and we never precede committing tyranny to anyone."

The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam was satisfied with the answer. He accepted their creed and their good deeds and appointed Qais bin Hushain as the leader of the tribe of Bani Harith bin Ka'ab. []
