Now Jennifer had denied her before the teacher and class. It was at this moment that Cynthia decided to mind her own business in school and never to get on her bellicose cousin's way. She owed her uncle academic excellence.
In school, Cynthia was doing far better than Jennifer. Jennifer was an average student; she was more interested in keeping her gang in school than studying her books. Jennifer had a set of three friends Joan, Josephine and Judith, they called themselves four jays and that was because they were four in number and first letter of their names was the letter J.
It had been Josephine's idea to pick out the four girls in the class whose names began with letter J. There had been three other girls but they declined associating with them and there was one, Justina who was not accepted because she was thought to come from a humble home. The gang was for the children of the rich.
