The Devil's Dog "Black Shuck"

in #story6 years ago

The old English heritage is full of legends, myths and tales told by grandmothers to grandchildren, most of them frightening and frightening and used as a tool to intimidate children and forbidding them from many things such as going out at night or bad behavior. Among these tales is the story of the black devil named Black Shuck, And the literal translation of his name is (grayish black) but I will only be called (black devil) where he is the most appropriate name in my opinion. He is the same dog inspired by the well-known writer Arthur Conan Doyle, a novelist (Sherlock Holmes) whose famous novel The Hound Of Baskerville.

Paskerville is one of the most famous and wonderful stories of the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes

But what is the story of this demonic dog?He is a very large, dark-colored, dark-skinned dog who uses darkness as a cover and is said to be the envy of East Anglain and Cambridge. He has two large red eyes and is sometimes described as having only one eye the size of a tea bowl and lying on one side of his head. He has thick black fur, and has a mouth that is so sharp that he tears the unfortunate victim into pieces. This dog is a harbinger of death and destruction for those who see it, because it means that its end is imminent and will surely die a terrible death within a week or less than the time it is seen. Despite the horror that is spreading in the hearts of people at the time, but there are stories about the fact that this dog extends a helping hand to the single women who had to go out at night.

It is a huge and terrifying dog moving under the cover of darkness

In 1127, the first stories about the appearance of a huge black devil in the Church of Peterburg recorded in the church itself, it was Sunday of the week where people met in the church to perform the decrees, that day many people said they saw a number of foreign fishermen who They wore the black color from their heads to their feet, and they were large bodies with ugly bodies and blackened skin, and they were riding black horses like night, and some were riding on the back of a large goat, while the hunting dogs that accompanied them were darker than the darkness itself and with frightening eyes and Great as a dish. This happened in the deer park of the town of Peterburg, which extends to the limits of the forest. At night the monks heard the sounds of these hunters and according to the testimonies of the men who were present that night, their numbers ranged from 20 to 30 fishermen.

Dark fishermen with black clothes and huge bodies appeared

In fact, this story can be considered part of another myth known as Wild Hunt, or wild or furious hunting. This myth speaks of hunters like ghosts using hunting dogs to chase their victims through the sky and the ground. These hunters may be dead or jinn As well as their dogs and horses. But what matters to us from this story is the description of the dogs and the size of their eyes and color.Of course, nowadays there is a belief that what he saw and saw by the people at that time was only a group of fishermen who wanted to instill terror in the hearts of people, or perhaps members of a noble class wanted to show their power and surround themselves with mystery and spread terror for unknown reasons, and perhaps no more than Being exaggerations in the description.

But the myth does not end here .. As a legend or another story that is no less strange and ambiguous ..

The demonic beast appeared and caused the death of a man and a child and a terror in the soul

This famous story took place on August 4, 1577 in the villages of Bongai and Blithburg in the Suffolk district of England. It is said that a black demon dog rushed through the doors of Holy Trinity Church Holly Terinetti with a thunderous voice, A man and a small child and caused the collapse of the church tower and when the dog turned back from where it came amid the flame that caused it, behind the signs of burning on the door of the Church of the North and can be seen to this day and is called today (Footprints of the devil).

The alleged effects of the demonic dog are still on the wooden church doorToday it is believed that the story above was caused by the lightning that struck the church in the same period, but because of the primitive beliefs and the lack of understanding of natural phenomena and attributed to unknown forces, the story has been modified in such a frightening way. While some see that the story is not without the fact .. Is Satanic dog fact or just a myth fabricated by people based on old beliefs and natural phenomena interpreted somehow behind me?Well, the logical answer is that this devilish dog is only a creature of English folklore and does not exist except in the stories of grandmothers in ancient times, because a dog of this size and specifications is not reasonable to be found in fact.But...Archaeologists have found a skeleton of a huge dog buried near the remains of an ancient church. The church is located several miles away from the church where the above story took place. The length of this skeleton was 7 feet (2 meters and 10 cm) After initial tests of the soil, the dog was buried in a shallow grave at about the same time as the rumors of the demonic dog in the two villages.

The skeleton of the giant dog found by scientistsThe discovery caused the scientists to be very puzzled and excited and rushed to the laboratory to conduct the necessary tests and estimate the age of the skeleton.
What do you think dear reader? ..Did the scientists find the myth of Satanic dog actually? Do you believe in the existence of creatures that seek to hunt down and hunt errant people and carry out divine punishment? Or was the dog only the product of nature and bearing the consequences of the enormity of his body that was killed to satisfy the minds of people who believe in superstitions?
