RE: Consoles and Controllers Out Now

Playing game characters sounds intriguing! Occaisonally I love to play games that are a bit "different", like Fetchquest/Monarchies of Mau (a post-whatever fantasy setting where you play dogs and cats) or the German "Plüsch, Power & Plunder" (=Plush, Power + Plunder, interesting how close these words are), where you play stuffed animals that suddenly come alive in the toy section of a department store. Games like these are great for a bit of change parallel to long running campaign with elaborate character developments etc.

One thing that's really nice about these sort of metafictional things is that it lets you break free of being self-conscious about genre. A lot of people nowadays really either expect you to go all-in on the genre-blending or have none at all, but since you've got basically five settings with their batches of inspirations all coming together you can blend or stay separated as much as you want.
