LIFE UPDATE

170 Days! That is more than half a year! The last time I posted on HIVE was on 12th January; after more than 6 months, I am writing again. I have so many things to share, yet so little time! At least it is a beginning!⁣

If you followed or at least remember me (which is unlikely, as six months is a hell of a lot of time!), you would remember I was going through many things. I tried to take a breather, but was I able to calm my mind? Most probably no. An overthinker like me cannot settle that easily. So, what have I been doing in this time?

Well... Referring to my second-to-last post (I know it is weird, but telling those again seems tiresome), I mentioned sending my CV for a job. So, I got the job. I know it is not a big deal, but I was seeing unfathomable water around me, and that came like a blessing. Actually, this job is a blessing from the Almighty.

One may ask, why is it a blessing from Almighty? The CV was forwarded by a friend; you attended the interview, so where does the Omnipotent fit here?

Firstly, I wasn't sure that I would go for the interview. I returned to my hometown from the capital just the day before I got the interview call, and the interview was the next day! I am not a traveler, so there was a 99% chance I would say I cannot go! Which I kind of said, and I asked for half an hour to let them confirm or decline. After discussing it with my parents, I called them and confirmed.

In the afternoon, I again hopped on the bus. The next morning, I reached the office before the due time. I was taken to the conference room and then was given several programming-related questions on a paper to solve. I answered all correctly except one. When the two interviewers came, they checked the answers and asked why I did that. I told them, I know this is wrong, but I do not like the format of the correct one. 😅

I got the phone call that I had been selected when I was returning by bus. They told me I would be an intern for 3 months, and then after a review I could be permanent. The salary they offered was far more than any intern in my country earns in this field! Hearing the salary, I was stunned!

I joined, I worked, and I tried to learn the things. Although JAVA was never my favorite! But the twisted luck put me in a place where Java is needed. About one and a half months later, a situation arose. I needed a long vacation. Being a new guy, I knew I would not get that long leave, but the reason was urgent, so I went to my manager and told her I might need to resign.

She became surprised! She told me talks were going on to make me permanent before the three months. I stood there without any word. I knew I liked the place and the people, and leaving this job may burden me even more. She then asked if I could work from home. Without any hesitation I said yes, I could work from home.

Then, while talking with the HR, he said the talk of making me permanent was going on after only fifteen days of me joining the office! I was to be promoted within a week! But the country head told HR to hold my change of role till I return and join the office. I had no problem with that.

On the day of my return, I was made permanent. I thought the rise of the salary would not be that much; I was even thinking if the salary was not to my liking, I might refuse it. But reading the confirmation letter, I was literally shaking! My salary doubled! This was unimaginable for me!

A friend of mine told another friend that I was getting the salary that took him three years to get in less than three months. I don't know if he is happy or jealous. So, yeah, job life is going smoothly, you can say.

But the thing that is not going smoothly is that I haven't yet found a suitable house for rent. I am staying at a relative's. Although they have welcomed me cordially, I am hesitant and feel like I am a burden for them. Also, I hate commuting through the traffic of the city. I want to live in a place near my office so I can walk from there. But still, lady luck hasn't shone on me in this respect. But I think I can happily accept all the luck and blessings I have gotten.

So, in short, I got a job that pays well, I moved out to another city, and I am looking for a comfortable place to stay. There are other minor events that can be excluded.

So, how have you guys been? Let me know. Also, if there are any changes in the rules here in HIVE, please let me know.
