Apple's Generative AI Efforts to Bear Fruit in 2024

in #technology3 months ago

I'm listening to some ACRAZE on this lazy Sunday morning after a short walk outside in the brisk winter air. Recently I posted about how I ordered the Rabbit R1 device, and the game-changing potential inherent in this palm-sized gadget.

Fast-forward to a Feb 2nd article from BGR, about iOS 18 bringing generative AI to iPhones, as hinted at in the Q1 Apple earnings call by Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Now if you know anything about Apple, you know they take the time necessary in R&D to get it right. They spent YEARS perfecting the iPhone before finally releasing it in 2007.

While they didn't create the first tablet, Its now been proven that people don't want tablets, they want an iPad. Same with the Apple Watch (I don't know anybody for instance, with a Samsung or Google watch).

Sales of the new Vision Pro have exceeded expectations, and will set the bar that others will end up copying. You know, like Samsung does when they ridicule a new iPhone feature, only to copy it the following year...

Remember when Samsung released commercials attacking Apple for removing the headphone jack on the iPhone 7? Then they copied Apple by ditching the headphone jack with the Note 10, while also deleting their ads attacking Apple when they did it.

Or when they trolled Apple for not including a power adapter with their iPhones, before following Apple, and doing the same themselves....

I could go on and on, but you get the picture. As with the new Vision Pro, you can expect a similar response to whatever generative AI product Apple releases.

Attack first, copy later.

Whatever they release, it'll have that Apple fit and finish that their copycat competitors lack. It'll also be the official launch date of the AI Wars, and may the best man win!

I posit that Rabbit will have a short window to make an impact with their device before the big players jump in, so it better be good. I don't know what I'm going to do with my pre-order given the Apple announcement. Luckily, orders can be cancelled anytime prior to the shipment dat, and mine is in June/July of 2024...

I for one, can't wait to see Apple's take on the subject, as I surmise they've likely been working on it for years now in order to release later on this year. If it manages to improve on the Rabbit R1, all the better. Who wouldn't want a beautiful new iPhone that does everything the R1 does and more?

Either way, 2024 will be an exciting time in this burgeoning new field. AI, TAKE ME AWAY!
