Today is very unique to me ( Being an Engineer by profession) as i want to share with you some the humble beginings of engineering and technology.. Technology has improved since the very early stages and times of the industrial revolution.. First lets take a look at ancient technology and its limitations....

PROBLEMS OF ANCIENT TECHNOLOGY

Technology has helped man gain control over nature, and so builds a civilized way of life.. However, in case of classical engineering technology, the ancient man have little control over nature as they do not have the needed sophisticated technology. They had only simple tools, and it was primitive labour intensive. They rely mainly on experience and intuition in their search for knowledge. Rather, new methods and skill were in all likelihood discovered by accident" However, in spite of any defects, the ancient men obviously met their basic needs through the application of their technology. Since their technology is labour intensive, they may not have suffered in terms of environment degradation and pollution, depletion of natural resources, technological unemployment, creation of unsatisfactory job, etc. Which are characteristics of our own modern and high technology of this century..

THE HISTORY OF MODERN TECHNOLOGY

There is no doubt about the fact that science and technology have been the great means of human development. Through them, we have better food, good housing, great variety of cloths, high medic care, cars and aeroplanes to convey us on our journey, radio, computers and a whole range of others equipment to entertain us in our leisure hours. Technology has made it possible these days to live healthier Lives, longer lives, and many ways, more comfortable lives than previous generation.

Critically, excessive technological growth has also created an environment in which life has become physically and mentally unhealthy. In recent times, issues such as glob warming and. "green house effect" have become recurrent decimals . polluted air, irritating noise, traffic congestion, chemical contaminants, radiation hazards, and many other sources of physical and psychological stress have become part of everyday life for most of us From the above critical examination of the concept of modern technology, it becomes crystal cleat that, technology has its merits and demerits and if we continue to analyse them, "there will be no end to it".

Modern society -- The historical development

The history of our modern society (civilization) can be traced back from the period, of Roman empire. We entered the dark ages period of European history. At this period, there were no outstanding technological achievements apart from clock and stained glass of cathedrals. Europe had contributed little to new technology for hundreds of Years.

Historians attributed this period of intellectual / technological backwardness-- the dark ages, partly to the church or religion, and magical arts, astrology and witchcraft. It was in the middle ages ( medieval world) that an extraordinary flowering of philosophical debates as continuation of previous Greek view about the earth, water, fire and air began. At this period, it seems the limitation of human reasoning implied that religion or church doctrines alone could serve as the ultimate authority for human understanding. But 14th to about 16th centuries saw the start of Renaissance, which released scientific thought from religious shackles and in doing so, promoted technology<

Crypto currencies is a product of the blockchain technology.. The Steem blockchain which has changed many lifes is a product of modern technology.. Indeed modern technology has improved the way of life of humans and more is still on its way coming..
