For some decades, television has been the preferred activity to do when one has free time. Despite people using television to see celebrities’ lives or ridiculous news, it is totally indisputable that television educates more than it entertains. The reason is simple: go to your television and start looking at different channels: you may encounter channels about cooking food, national and international news, documentaries, certain movies, among others. Moreover, television can educate while it entertains, as it is the case with some movies, where you can always grasp some message or meaning that will probably follow you for some days at least (or for your entire life, who knows).
Television is, indeed, a very interesting activity. The most educational channels could be Discovery Channel, History Channel, NatGeo, among others. These channels specialize exclusively in documentaries and programs in that line. However, channels like History Channel and Discovery Channel have started to take another path in which they specialize in programs that tilt more towards entertaining rather than educating (such is the case of Pawn Stars, for example, which is almost 24/7 on History).
