This trip was probably my most relaxing, I was originally intending on going to Brussels, but everyone said go to Bruges, and there's not much I wanted to particularly see in Brussels so I said why not.
I took the bus from Frankfurt to Bruges, it was not packed on the bus at all. And then when I got to Bruges they drop you off in front of this train station, but you can't really tell from the outside so it just looked like an industrial park, and my thought was uh oh, what if I got off at the wrong town. How in the world will I get where I need to go. But it was Bruges! Thankfully Google Maps was with me, which again saved me and brought me into the main town.
It was probably the most picturesque and peaceful place I visited.
It was really old europe feel. The hostel was eh so-so. I didn't do a bar crawl or drinking or anything on this one. I just wanted to take in the town. And it was really pleasant.
Throughout the entire town or city, whatever its classified as, there are canals flowing through it all, and it's absolutely charming.
Got a lot of nice pictures.
There's also those traditional windmills, I don't think they actually do anything anymore, but they are there to see still.
And here's some pictures of the main town square
This next one (so they say) contains a thing of the blood of christ I think it was, but I can't remember the exact deal, interesting bit anyways
I like this one, if you've seen Guardians of the Galaxy you get the reference
And of course I ate the junk food they are famous for, waffles and fries, and it was every bit as delicious as I could hope for.
I sat in the park by the river for a while just to relax and this butterfly kept flying up to me and sitting on me for long periods of time, which was cool.
I also went walking through the residential areas and saw a cat :D I love seeing cats
He looks like the grumpy cat meme
a hot air balloon over the town
I also looked up a good chocolate place and found this one
More walking through the town, it's basically only you out there.
(this is one of my favorites)
And to top it all off one last canal shot
I know I basically say this about every place in these posts, but I'm going to say it again haha, worth going, very relaxing.

You described Brugge pretty well, didn't look as busy as usual too. The marketplace normally is swarming with tourists visiting the medieval remnnants during the high season.
Hey thanks! This was from June or July of 2017, it was busy but I got my pictures before the crowds really get there
In the morning it tended to be somewhat empty :)
