Danish stories #01 / Hello, Copenhagen!

in #travel7 years ago

From all countries, travel in which I planned, Denmark was the most difficult. The financial aspect plays a very important role, and the options to save a lot: the exchange rate is very very frustrating. The cost of travel to Denmark you can fly to Czech Republic for the same period of time.

I really wanted to discover something new. Sea - was. The desert - was. The desert was. Central Europe with castles on steep slopes. The edge of the world - it was. But the North was not. Denmark is the most southern Scandinavia, but its culture and appearance is not similar to the southern continental neighbors. Copenhagen I was expecting to see a good and just nice but it met my expectations and was very surprised! I have a story to tell!

  1. When you travel to Denmark you need to be ready to change everything. Copenhagen only in geographic coordinates is close to Moscow. Everything else is changing. The first great change of consciousness occurs during landing. In the Oresund Strait between Denmark and Sweden, you will meet walshie group of wind turbines. produce electricity. And then full independence. Even assistants when buying metro tickets will show you how you can buy tickets at the machine, and at the box office. From the airport there is a feeling that automation is here more than people.

  2. Bikes expect to see in the first moment, but wonder how not ready for it. Bikes always and everywhere. Bike is here according to the rules of the road above the cars and has a very big advantage.

  3. The first impression can be deceiving. Anyone coming to Copenhagen in the first place meets the Tivoli Park. It is located near the railway station. Here are all the train tracks in the city, but the train in the region in the first place to travel great distances.

  4. From the prices sometimes you want to take on the head. Covered in a film of the prepared smorbrod (local national sandwiches) are offered for big money. For the sake of understanding multiply these numbers by 10.

  5. It is understood that for locals these prices are normal. On a weekday the cafe is not empty. On the weekend especially.

  6. The architecture of Copenhagen on the photos is expected monotonous, but I see a combination of completely different buildings. In this old building of metal and glass is Nordea, which you will meet in any city in the country.

  7. Muscovite comfortable here to see any construction. Say, in the capital of Russia, a lot of people Express dissatisfaction with the mass operations in the summer period. The same operation in Copenhagen carried out a few years. Currently building two metro lines, for which block off a few squares, a couple of streets, moved channel. And all this is more than 5 years with noise and without alternatives for residents.

  8. One of such places, engaged in the construction - the square in front of city hall. One of the places where the movement of tourists on the longest shopping pedestrian street strøget.

  9. Not less noticeable tower on the building Scandic Palace Hotel. According to numerous towers caters to people with any tourist observation deck. On a tower in the city you can climb.

  10. The main bird of the city is the Seagull. A huge amount of water around promotes comfortable living these white predators in any part of the city, even remote from the waterfront.

  11. Here is more familiar to city combination of colors: all shades of brick and dark trousers. In General, the style of the buildings and the design of the city is pleasing to the eye only in good weather. In the greyness and dampness, the city loses its beauty.

  12. Subscribers my Instagram already know what this place is. In some places the Danes on modern fashion and traditions of European countries, make the squares, but how can you make a small forest in the densely built city on the Islands? At several points created such an unusual site. Park with densely planted trees completely stripped of branches and leaves on the growth of the tall man. Between the trees is established pillars lighting, and the passage is completely open and is on the same level with the sidewalk. You can walk through a small forest gardens.

  13. A similar density of trees hides from the eyes of the house, and it was built in this part of town is not bad. But the effect of sudden changes pleasant.

  14. A lot of establishments on the first floor selling flowers for the home, green best for their land. But we are very close to the centre of the city!

  15. Each small area in this part of town in the middle of something.

  16. In the historic center is renovating a space on the ground floor. Bright color wall covering future shop, draws the eye. As we face the next tower. And it's true: think about Copenhagen as city of cyclists, and the little mermaid. And meet a huge number of towers at various buildings.

  17. Accidental entrance to the yard, showed us the cafe at the Church. The bell on the wooden support, and the Church itself occupies part of the premises.

  18. Who is this man, I don't know.

  19. But this monument is known to every local resident since high school. Bishop Absalon on horseback, the founder of Copenhagen in 1167.

  20. Harsh Danes even with the channel decided to work. Here just build the subway, so that such sites very much.

  21. Even the routes of pleasure boats changed. This is one of the most popular channels in the area. He cuts off from the whole island of Slotsholmen, which is now Christiansborg castle. It was here that the town was founded.

  22. Historically, this place has changed only in design. In channels came in small ships, but once shopping. And snychas here takes tourists one of the routes the local tourist ships.

  23. The other statue on the square shows a more modern leader of the country. King Frederik VII was the last absolute monarch of Denmark. Behind him the building of the Ministry of Finance.

  24. An impressive building with a huge  twisted spire - the local exchange. It was built in 1614-1640 years, and moved to a new building only in the middle of the last century.

  25. On the other side from the Slotsholmen is a small angular the Church of Holmen. It looks rustic in comparison to other churches in the city and the country. To historians It is interesting. In Denmark and the Royal family have a better attitude than in Britain. They say that there normally belong to the crown. Now, in this Church, baptized and crowned the current Queen Margrethe the Second. Here, baptized and venali crown Prince Frederick.

  26. Here, in the first day saw the conflict between cyclist and car. A motorist on a white Sitroene cyclist clipped. He swore loudly and crash managed to avoid. According to the rules of the road, the cyclist is always right. If the cyclist is not right, see point 1. In cases of conflict the rules of traffic rules, the motorist must pass a bicyclist.

  27. Now we can calmly look at the Church of Holmen.

  28. And on the stock Exchange.

  29. In General, the first day surprised with a nice side. Yes. in Copenhagen a large construction project. But it does once prevent? You can safely walk down the street and not worry about something. No matter where you go, everywhere cyclists! :-)

  30. You can accept the fact. in the frame there is always the bike.

  31. And even if you go to the garden of the Royal library in the evening after work. the one you see here - the cyclist! Where'd he come from? Why? or just a habit to have a bike handy?

  32. The garden, incidentally, is very quiet and pleasant.

  33. The entrance is through the building of the state archive.

  34. In the background the library itself.

  35. Silence and tranquility.

  36. A rare occasion to photograph almost empty Parking lot.

  37. Then we waited for the next channels.

  38. But there is still a lot of travels and discoveries in Denmark. Very nice Copenhagen was greeted with a Bang! But then I didn't know that I will have a lot of very unusual discoveries...

  39. We went home, and these seniors went about their business.

There is still a lot of Denmark!
