Tuscon Trip last week!!!

in #travel5 years ago

I was away last week visiting my long time besties from college - ummm, dare I say how long we've known each other? 41 years!? Is that possible? Let me just say that we all look remarkable well (LOL)!
But seriously, we feel like when we look at each other, we look exactly the same as 40 years ago. Just you wait you youngins' out there. It will be true for you too ;-)

I'll make this post about the beautiful sunset views. We stayed at my friend's house that has a view of the Catalina Mountains in Tucson. We went on a hike each day and we enjoyed the sunset each night.

Here is the sunset from a quite cloudy day, but then when the sun got so low, it peaked through and gave as quite the display.

ENJOY!!

VIEW 1 - This caught us by surprise since it had been so cloudy. We were like "oooooh! Ahhhhh!" "purple mountains!" "Oh and I can still see some snow on top!"

VIEW 2 - this is just moments later. All of a sudden the sun caught some low misty clouds and it looked as though the sun got behind the mountains...

Then VIEW 3
We looked over to the western horizon, and the sky had caught on fire!!!

If you get a chance to go to Arizona, Tucson is fantastic. It is surrounded by 4 mountain ranges, so lots of hiking. Plus there are so many good restaurants. We visited a public garden. More details about all that tomorrow.

Happy Hour everyone!

I lived in Phoenix for almost 2 years in the 90's, the heat was great to me.. as someone coming from the UK. I still miss AZ and call it my second home.

I have been past Tuscon once on a trip down to Tombstone. Thats a fun place.

My friends live there half the year. It sure was a great place to go when it was -2F back in NJ!!!

I can imagine, I remember the 'snowbirds' as locals call them.. they got blamed for a lots of accidents as many were older people. Im not so sure they were directly to blame.

Amazing photos of the sunset and you're right, at the end it looks like a real explosion!

Very beautiful photos and this is a truly spectacular sight!

Oh yeah @gardenlady, you chose good moments for shooting the sunset, very beautiful!

Great photos @gardenlady and this sunset looks amazing!

Love those photographs, brilliant views :)

It's beautiful country!

I flew into Tucson just before Christmas on my way to silver city. It was nice. Maybe next time I will get to catch one of those amazing sunsets.

@gardenlady, Wow, that's a journey for sure, and you've said true, when we see our friends no matter at which point of age, they look the same as they look before, mystery right?, Great to know this part for sure.

Some breathtaking pictures to watch specially sky is reflecting the pure art with multiple colours are mixing with each other to reflect the artful show. Stay blessed.

What fantastic photos. It is really great to watch them!
And I agree with your comment that if you see each other after so many years, you all look the same as decades ago :)
