I took these photos at Crater Lake OR. We drove through meadows, high desert, high elevation mountains, moss covered forrest, beautiful vistas. Suddenly the threes parted and we seen a huge granite mountain rise above us. We were amazed that we were going to the top of this bare mountain. The view on the top is awe inspiring! You feel special just being there.
I came very close a couple of years ago to getting on a fire crew to fight fires in this area. These pics make me even more sad it didn't happen. Oh well, maybe I can make it there on a personal trip, that would be more fun anyway! Great shots btw
There were fires there last summer also. Drove by some burnt out charred areas. You have to be special to be a firefighter. Dangerous occupation that most people don’t appreciate on a daily basis.
